    Marion (Giesen) Mirsberger passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009. She was born on June 3, 1924, in Plymouth, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Herbert & Anna (Kloeppel) Giesen. At age 10, after her father's death, Marion, her mother and brother moved to Hilbert to live with her grandparents. She graduated from St. Mary Catholic School and Hilbert High School class of 1942. Upon graduation, Marion worked at the Calumet Cheese House until her marriage. In 1946, she married Edward Mirsberger at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. They celebrated 63 years of marriage on June 6th. Ed & Marion farmed at St. John until their retirement; Marion also worked at Thiel's Cheese Factory. Marion was a member of St. John Catholic Church in St. John, where she also was a member of the Christian Women Organization, the St. John Mission Society, and she served as president of the St. John Sacred Heart school board. Marion volunteered and chaired many activities at church. She was a caretaker of the church for many years and loved decorating the altars for Mass with flowers from her garden. Marion was the treasurer of the Hilbert Public School board for 17 years, was the first woman elected to the board, and she was a lifetime supporter of Catholic and public education. She also served as a 4-H leader and delivered Meals on Wheels to shut-ins for 10 years. Marion was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lovingly cared for all of her grandchildren, and she was a fabulous cook, a talented gardener and an avid bird watcher.
    She is survived by her husband, Edward, of Hilbert; her children: James (Eileen) Mirsberger of Burlington, Sue Mirsberger of Menasha, Fay (Michael) Mignone of Virginia, Thomas (Rita) Mirsberger of Hilbert, Jane (Joseph) Bauer of Hilbert, Clare (James) Putman of Green Bay; her grandchildren: Shanthi (David) Henriksen, and their son Andrew, John Mirsberger, Heather Elliott and fiance Christian Woods, and her son Luke, Michael Mignone, Niles (Bonnie) Mirsberger and their son Riley, Noah (Christina) Mirsberger, Nolan Mirsberger, David (Trish) Bauer and their daughter Cailyn, Molly Bauer, Matthew Bell, Victoria Bell, Melanie Putman; her brother and sisters-in-law: Bernadette Giesen of Hilbert, and Robert and Julie Mirsberger of New York.
    She was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Anna; her infant daughter: Anne; her infant grandson: Nate Mirsberger; her brother: Donald Giesen; her parents-in-law: Joseph and Mary (Kees) Mirsberger; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Joseph and Verena Rossmeier, John and Armella Doherty, Joseph and Helen Mirsberger, and Sister Helen Mirsberger.
    The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the St. John Catholic Church in St. John. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009, and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A vigil service will be held Friday evening at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Marion Mirsberger.

    Thomas E. "Tom" Mirsberger, age 60, of Hilbert, died on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was born May 11, 1955 in Appleton, WI, son of the late Edward & Marion (Giesen) Mirsberger. He attendee UW Whitewater and played football for the Warhawks.
    Tom married Rita Lemberger on June 5, 1981 in Hilbert and the couple farmed in the Hilbert area for 25 years. Tom later drove truck for over 10 years.
    Tom was a simple and quiet man who was known to have a wicked sense of humor by his family. In his younger days, he played drums for several bands in the area with many gigs every week. He was a huge Green Bay Packer fan and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren every chance he could.
    Survivors include his wife: Rita; his children: Niles (Bonnie) Mirsberger of Goodhue, MN, Noah Mirsberger of Hilbert, Nolan Mirsberger of Hilbert; 4 grandchildren: Riley, Nathan, Jase & Emma Mirsberger; his mother-in-law: Jackie Lemberger; a very special friend: Fred (Libby) King; and his siblings: James (Eileen) Mirsberger, Sue Mirsberger, Fay (Michael) Mignone, Jane (Joe) Bauer, & Claire (Jim) Puttman. Tom is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Nate Mirsberger; his father-in-law: Robert Lemberger; and a sister: Anne Mirsberger.
    Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will follow in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in St. John. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2015 and on Saturday at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 9:45 am.
