    Vogt, Vivian M.Age 84, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, who forme rly resided on the family farm, with her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis a nd Rachel Vogt at 5231 Center Road, Manitowoc, entered into eternal re st on Monday, January 20, 2003 at Shady Lane.Funeral services will be Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 11 a.m. at John E v. On September 29, 1945 s he married Roland Vogt in Appleton. Mr. Vogt preceded her in death Octob er 10, 1983. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, St. John 's Ladies Aid and the Homemakers Club.Survivors include four children: Sharon (Scott) Metskas, Stevens Point; Ju nelle Vogt-Moritz, Dennis (Rachel) Vogt and Bev.     Gerda J. Borchardt, age 98, Appleton, formerly of Hortonville, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Brewster Village in Appleton. Gerda was born in Greenville on March 7, 1917, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Manteufel) Laudon. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Greenville. On October 28, 1939, she married Arnold W. Borchardt. Following marriage, the couple resided in Hortonville and were members for the remainder of their lives at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She and Arnold and their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Moder were the founders of Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home and Furniture Store in Hortonville. Gerda was a past member of the Ladies Aid, enjoyed bowling, golfing, and her later year's water aerobics at her Florida home. Failing health and death of Arnold in 2002, brought her back to the city of Appleton.
    She is survived by her son William (Bill and Audrey) Borchardt; 4 grandchildren, John (Tracy) Borchardt, Tammy (John) Totzke, Pamela (Jaime) Mullock and Kimberly (Jerome) Thompson and 9 great-grandchildren.
    She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold W. Borchardt; son Charles and grandson Michael; 3 brothers, Raymond, Wilmer and Melvin and sisters, Irma and Myra.
    Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Hortonville with Rev. Mark Henke and Rev. Ralph Rosenberg officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hortonville.

    Rudolph H. Nieman, age 82, of Appleton, died Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2007. He was born October 14, 1924, to the late Harry R. and Eleanora (Manteufel) Nieman, in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life. Rudy served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed by Landwehr and Hackle, of Mackville and later by Fox Valley Lutheran High School. Rudy and his wife, Caroline, enjoyed traveling and toured the country in their RV. He made friends everywhere he went. Rudy was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church.
    He is survived by his wife, Caroline E. (Sternhagen) Nieman, whom he married May 6, 1950; his children, Charlene (Roy) Beyer, Algoma; Debra (Dick) Brooker, Fremont; Curtis Nieman, Appleton; 10 grandchildren, Andy Brooker, Angela (Roy) Krueger, Brett (Carrie) Brooker, Kim (Bret) Bollmeier, Eric (Megan) Beyer, Jason (Rachel) Beyer, Kevin (Yoshimi) Beyer, Joshua (Jackie) Nieman, Erica and Tamara Nieman; 12 great-grandchildren, Tatum, Nathan and Ella Bollmeier, Zachary, Madelyn, Isabelle, Emma and Eli Beyer, Ava and Meadow Krueger, Clayton and Brayden Nieman; a sister Audrey Kobussen.

Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 pm and on Thursday at the church, from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial funds have been established for St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church and Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

    Audrey Kobussen, age 79, went home to heaven on Friday morning, May 25, 2012, after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Audrey was born on November 6, 1932, the youngest of the four children of Harry and Elenore (Manteufel) Nieman. She was baptized into the Christian faith at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Greenville on December 4, 1932, and was confirmed in that same faith at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Dale on May 19, 1946. Audrey graduated from the Appleton (West) High School in 1950. On November 30, 1952, she married Merlin Kobussen at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, and the couple was blessed with four sons. They enjoyed traveling together to many places, including Hawaii, Germany, Victoria Island, and all around the United States. Her brother Rudy and his wife Caroline were frequent traveling companions. Merlin and Audrey shared fifty-ones years together until his death in February of 2004.
    Cooking and baking were great loves in Audrey's life. She worked at Lawrence University for twenty-six years as a cook, and also earned the title of "Certified Working Chef" from the American Culinary Association in Florida. She was the second woman ever to earn that distinction.
    St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran had been Audrey's church home since the late 1940's. There she was active in the choir, couples club, and also helped to lead the young girls' group on Saturday mornings. She was a faithful member of the Ladies Aid since 1995, and was valued for her baking and cooking skills to help serve at funerals and other church events. She was also a cook at Camp Bird for twenty-six years.
    Audrey's greatest joy in life was her family. Those who will miss her dearly are her sons: Tony (Kathy) Kobussen of Oconomowoc; Neal (Judy) Kobussen of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Mitchel (Ginger) Kobussen of Black Creek; a daughter-in-law: Lisa (Tom) Schultz of Neenah; eight grandchildren: Sara (Will) Laskowski, Stephani Kobussen, Keri Kobussen, Kimberly Kobussen, Morgan Kobussen-Schultz, and Jacob, Emily, and Sophie Schultz. There are also three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Brock, and Evan; a sister-in-law: Caroline Nieman of Appleton; a special niece: Janice Baerwald; as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives, Camp Bird friends, and many other friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merlin; a son Glenn; brothers: Rudy Nieman and Sheldon (Agnes) Nieman ; and a sister: Lusetta (Eldred) Tellock.
    The Christian Funeral for Audrey will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason Street in Appleton, with Rev. Thomas Mielke officiating. Inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of the services.     She was preceded in death by her parents: Elsie and Rueben Kluess; her daughter, Nancy Petersen; her brothers: John and DuWayne Kluess; and her step-mother, Dorothy.
    Barb enjoyed gardening, canning, and farming with Clarence. She also took part in craft work, ceramics and cake decorating, having done many large wedding cakes. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah and their Ladies' Aide.
    The funeral service for Barb will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. A visitation will be held at church Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
