    Kenneth R. Erdman, age 88, formerly of Park Lane, Clintonville, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at Pine Manor Health Care Center, Clintonville.
    Kenneth Richard Erdman was born October 31, 1922, in the Town of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, and was the son of the late Albert and Catherine (McClone) Erdman. Ken was a lifetime resident of the Clintonville area, and was united in marriage to Joan M. Vanderwalker on October 24, 1946, at Clintonville, WI. After marriage, the couple farmed in the Town of Belle Plaine for several years, and later, Ken worked at Hillshire Farms, New London. For about fifteen years, Ken and Joan sold advertising for the "Lutheran Digest" in the area. Ken was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, and Ken and Joan enjoyed fishing up north at Post Lake.
    Survivors include one brother, John (Carol) Erdman, Appleton; one sister-in-law, Alice Erdman, Shawano; and five nieces: Wanda (JC) Chaney, Crandon; Deidre (Glen) Freimuth, Appleton; Valerie (Kirk) Schupbach, Pulaski; Brenda (Jake) Wolter, Appleton; and Darlene (Dick) Hartman, Wisconsin Rapids. Also surviving is an adopted daughter, Sandra (Martin) Olson, Neenah, two grandchildren, Justin and Brandy, and two great-grandchildren.
    Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, August 18, 2006, a brother, Edward, and an adopted son, Robert, 1996.
    The family wishes to give their thanks for the kind care and patience given to Kenneth during his stay, at Pine Manor Health Care Center.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, the Rev. Daniel Burns and the Rev. Vilas Mazemke will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Memorials may be sent to St. Martin Church.     Obituary:
    John William Erdman, 86, of Appleton passed away on Thursday September 29, 2016 at The Bridges of Appleton. He was born in Deer Creek on May 10, 1930, son of the late Albert and Katherine (McClone) Erdman. John married Carol Schmaling on May 28, 1960.
    John graduated from Clintonville High School in 1948, where he also played football for the "Truckers". He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. John worked for Rock Road Construction for eight years, and for the City of Appleton Water department where he retired after 29 years. John was a life member of the American Legion Post #38, where he served on the funeral honors team and as a past Commander. John enjoyed gardening, he especially liked growing potatoes. After retiring, John enjoyed living at Bear Lake, Manawa and Pelican Lake. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and playing cribbage.
    John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol; their four daughters: Wanda (JC) Cheney, Crandon, Deidre (Glen) Freimuth, Appleton, Valerie (Kirk) Schupbach, Pulaski, and Brenda (Jake) Wolter, Appleton; nine grandchildren: Michael (Sara) Freimuth, Samantha (Carlos) Avila, Joseph Freimuth, Katie Freimuth, William Schupbach, Holly Schupbach, Breanna Wolter, Janelle Wolter, and Brock Wolter; four great grandchildren: Preston Freimuth, Dallas Freimuth, Leo Avila, and Ruby Avila. John is further survived by his good friend and fishing buddy, Tom Hildebrand.
    Memorial service for John will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 until the 11:00 AM service. Full military honors will follow. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
    John's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at The Bridges of Appleton, for all of their care and compassion.
