Obituary:
Jeffrey Neil Brown, 58, passed away at home surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer on May 8, 2011. He was born to William and Audrey Brown on March 20, 1953, in Appleton, WI, where he was raised and attended the public school system graduating from Appleton East High School with the class of 1972. He spent three years in the Navy from 1972-1975. On February 8, 1985, he married Jeanine Ponkratz and raised two children, Gregory and Pamela. Jeff worked for Alcan for 28 years before retiring in 2011. He had many hobbies including watching the Packers, hunting and fishing with his family and friends, he also enjoyed playing racquetball with friends at the Neenah Y. Jeff also loved his trips to Mexico in the winter and riding his Harley in the summer.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanine Brown; two children: Gregory Brown, Appleton; Pamela Brown, Appleton; his brothers: Bruce (Debbie) Brown, Appleton; Dave (Mary) Brown, Appleton; many nieces and nephews. We will all cherish our memories of Jeff, his honesty and strength.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Brown in 2006, and his grandfather Otto Kasten in 1992.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Jeff's family will receive friends and relatives starting at 1 p.m. until the time of service at Valley Funeral Home, with full military honors to follow. A memorial fund is being established in Jeff's name.
