    Age 86, passed away about 3 a.m. Friday. He was bornFebruary 19, 1882 in the Town of Harrison and lived in Appleton most of his life. Survivors include his wife; Lillie; three daughters, Mrs. William (Florella) Stephen, Black Creek; Mrs. Carl (Shirley) Treichel, Appleton; Mrs. Vernon (Betty) Young, Hortonville; four sons,
    Kenneth, S e y m o u r ; Eugene, Hollandtown; Roy and Elmer, both of Appleton; 39 grandchil- dren; 14 great - grandchildren; one brother, William, Appleton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Monday at the Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. W. H. Gammelin officiat- ing. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may (call at the Valley Funeral Home I from 2 p.m. Sunday until thetime of services.

Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. John Malik will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Apfelbeck, Ronald Schmitt, Gregory Geiger, Galen Hanne, David Witte, Derek Lofland and Lawrence Sterzinger.Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, with a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m.Frank was born January 30, 1906, in the town of Mayville, rural Dorchester, to Frank and Anna (Metz) Geiger.     Shirley M. Treichel, 79, Appleton, passed away on Sept. 10, 2009, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle. She was born in Appleton on Oct. 15, 1929, to the late John and Lillian Geiger. Shirley married the late Carl "T-Bone" Treichel on Dec. 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2000. She spent most of her life as a crossing guard for the City of Appleton, until her retirement in January of 2006. Shirley was a member of the Moose Lodge.
    Shirley is survived by a son, Carl John (Margaret), Appleton; three daughters, Judy (Gary) Fryfogle, Appleton; Linda (Steve) Westphal, New Holstein; and Diane (Charlie) Pruitt, Kaukauna; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Treichel, Larsen; two sisters, Florella Stephan, Black Creek; Betty Young, Clintonville; two brothers, Elmer (Bev) Geiger, Appleton; Roy (special friend, Corkey); 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Amy and Connie Geiger. She is further survived by a very special friend, Sharon Mueller; and many nieces and nephews.
    Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, T-Bone; a son, Gary; two brothers, Gene and Kenny; brothers-in-law, Vernon Young and Bill Stephan.
    A memorial service for Shirley will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Leon Knitt officiating. Friends may visit the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
    The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Duppler, Dr. Vogt and the 4th floor South at AMC. Also a special thanks to Cherry Meadows Hospice, especially Sue, Peter and Carla.

    SGT Aaron Xavier Wittman, 28 of Chester, VA left this earth on 10 January 2013 while serving in the Khogyani District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan from injuries sustained when his unit was attacked by small arms fire while on mounted patrol. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Ft. Stewart, Ga. Aaron graduated from LC Bird High School in 2003 and The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina, Lima Company Class of 2007. Aaron served in the SC National Guard while attending The Citadel and deployed to Afghanistan with the 218th Brigade Combat Team in 2007. While assigned to Forward Operating Base Shkin, he was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB). After returning from Afghanistan in 2008, Aaron reentered the Citadel as a Veteran Student, completed his last semester, and walked across the graduation stage with his four deployed classmates with the Class of 2009. Totally committed to family, friends, and country, Aaron enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2010 and was ultimately assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division and was promoted to Sergeant. Aaron was Airborne qualified, fluent in the Pashto language, exceptionally fit and loved his Soldiers. Aaron received numerous awards to include the Purple Heart and Bronze Star posthumously. Aaron was an amazing son, brother, and friend and treasured the southern lifestyle of Charleston, SC that included fishing, crabbing, and extensive beach time with his friends and classmates. His childhood, Citadel and military friends will always remember him for his infectious smile and humor. Aaron cherished his dog Midnight, which he and a friend adopted after returning from their first Afghanistan deployment. His beloved Sarah Blakeley brought him much happiness during this last year prior to deployment. He is survived by his parents; Duane and Carol Wittman; brother, Capt Nicholas Wittman USMC, wife Rikki Felts Wittman and son Wesley; sister, Amber Wittman and CW4 Billy Frittz USA and soon to be baby Frittz; grandmothers, Mrs. Betty Wittman and Mrs. Tommi Contreras; eleven uncles and ten aunts; and twenty-one first cousins. Aaron will arrive at the Chesterfield County Airport on Thursday, 7 Feb; Family Only. Visitation will be on 7 February at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Chester, VA from 4-8 pm. Catholic Funeral Rites will be at St. Augustine's Catholic Church at 8 am on Friday 8 February. Due to travel requirements to Arlington National Cemetery, there will not be a reception following Catholic Services. The Wittman family extends an invitation to all friends to attend interment and the memorable Full Military Funeral Honors in Arlington National Cemetery at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Jeffrey Reed Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 55, Chesterfield, Va. 23832 or the Fisher House Foundation @ www.fisherhouse.org.
