    Alice M. Hutjens, 91, De Pere, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 19, 2012. Alice was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Coenen) Janssen, born September 2, 1920, De Pere. She married her late husband Joe Hutjens on August 27, 1942 at St. Mary Catholic Church, De Pere.
    Alice was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and an usher for many years. She worked on the family farm with her husband Joe. Alice loved to bowl, listen to country music, and play her guitar. She also loved having parties for her family and friends.
    Alice is survived by five children, Carol (Bob) Muehrcke, Bill Hutjens, Sally (Lee) Mancoske, Louie (Patti) Hutjens, Sandy (Dave) Heezen; 12 grand children; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as her 4 brothers, Louie (Esther) Janssen, Bob Janssen, Dan (Dorothy) Janssen, Ken (Donna) Janssen; 3 sister-in-laws, Mary Becker, Margaret (Mike) Lotto, and Germaine Hutjens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Alice was preceded in death by her husband Joe; son Tommy; sisters Johanna Wellens and Josephine Gossen; and sister-in-law Rita Janssen.
    Friends and family may call Sunday, January 22, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. to conclude the evening. Visitation will continue on Monday after 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr., Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.     Obituary:
    Josephine C. (Janssen) Gossen, 89, Green Bay, formerly of De Pere, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 1, 2011, surrounded by her family, who were her greatest joy in life. Daughter to the late William and Gertrude (Coenen) Janssen was born Nov. 13, 1921, in the Town of Rockland. She was an active member of St. Willebrord Catholic Church, where she was active in the Sanctuary Society, was a member of the Hospitality Committee, served as Eucharistic Minister and assisted wherever there was a need.
    Josephine volunteered at the Salvation Army and was Vice-President of the Single's Club. She loved to dance and was a member of the Whirl-O-Way Square Dance Club. She also enjoyed bowling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Josephine loved to walk and made sure she did so every day. Many people will remember her by her smile.

    Beulah "Bea" A. Vanden Hogen, Kimberly, age 85, died at her home Friday September 19, 2014. She was born in Little Chute on September 28, 1928 to the late Joseph and Hattie (De Bruin) Jansen. Beulah married Martin Vanden Hogen at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on September 6, 1958. Beulah enjoyed taking care of her yard, playing cards, building puzzles, knitting and trips to the casino. She loved to fish.
    Bea is survived by her husband of 56 years, Martin; children: Jeff (Sue) of Hilbert and Lori Sontag of Appleton; grandchildren: Alicia (Tyler) Schumacher, Carissa and Nathan Vanden Hogen, Cotey and Austin Carter, and Noah Sontag; great grandchildren: Ethan, Carson and Adriana Schumacher; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Claire, Betty and Alice Jansen, Mary (Ralph) Braun, Ann Mc Kitrick, Frances Auden, Bernie (Florence) Vanden Hogen, Pat Kunstman, Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen and Rose (Jerry) Verhagen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Eugene E. "Whitie" Jansen, Little Chute, age 76, died Friday January 4, 2013 at American Grand Assisted Living in Darboy. He was born in Little Chute on July 11, 1936 to the late Joe and Hattie (DeBruin) Jansen. Whitie attended St. John Grade School and graduated from Kimberly High School in 1954. He served in the Army from 1955-1957. Once Whitie was home, he married Alice Oudenhoven on May 3, 1958 at Holy Name Parish in Kimberly. He was employed at Lakeview and Kimberly Mills and retired from the Little Chute Post Office after 28 years of service. Whitie was a proud member of the Little Chute Fire Department for 12 years. He was especially pleased when his son and nephews followed him into service with their respective fire departments.
    Gene loved to socialize, whether it was time at the cottage on Archibald Lake or neighborhood gatherings, he was an excellent host that ensured his guests enjoyed themselves. The neighborhood New Year's Eve parties are warmly remembered. Whitie enjoyed playing cribbage and letting his grandkids drive the pontoon. Together, Whitie and Alice loved to travel. He also enjoyed watching the Packers.
    Gene is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice; daughters: Kathy (Steve) Horn, Town of Harrison; Karla (Joe) Greenwood, Freedom; sons: Mark (Kitty), Little Chute and Doug (Ellen), Kaukauna. grandchildren: Zach, Adam, Jacob and Sarah Horn, Josh (Aimee) and Brian Fischer, Kasey and Justin Greenwood, Chelsea and Nathan Jansen; step grandchildren: Ady (Tim) Miller, Rebecca (Kurt) Theyel, Zeb (Ashley) and Missie Bayer, Katie (Nick) Murtha; step great grandchildren: Deidre Miller, Jianna and Samara Theyel, Zander and Brin Bayer; sister: Beulah (Marty) Vanden Hogen; sisters-in-law: Betty and Claire Jansen; Alice's family: Kay Oudenhoven, Pat (Greg) VanZeeland, Mary(Butch) Malsavage, Joann (Jerry) Lamers, Gail (Terry) Jasmer and Jean (Dave) Coenen; Godchildren: Ann Lesenfelder, Randy Jansen, Gail Jasmer, Renee Brochtrup, Dawna Van Handel and Dan Malsavage.     Tom F. Hutjens, 35, De Pere, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at a local hospital after an eleven year battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was born August 31, 1977 to Louie and Patti (Gossen) Hutjens.
    Tom bravely faced the challenges of each and every day. He was honored to have worked as herd manager for Dave and Jerry Stencil at Stencil Farms. They allowed him to work until he decided he could no longer do the job. We are forever grateful to their families.
    Tom looked forward to and made every effort to attend Saturday night mass and then would go out to eat with family and friends. Uncle Bill made him laugh with his stories.

    Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportmans Drive, Ledgeview, on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, at church with the Rev.     Miah M. Van Der Steen, Kaukauna, age 13 died peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 9, 2003 in Appleton, WI daughter of Jason Van Der Steen and the late Jaime Petrie and also her adoptive mother, the late Ann "Anni" Van Der Steen. Miah was an "A" Student of the 7th grade at Riverview Middle School in Kaukauna. She participated in many sports, such as track, horseback riding, hunting and fishing. Miah enjoyed spending time with her siblings Ava and Jacob and her extended family and friends.
    She is survived by her father, Jason Van Der Steen; sister, Ava, brother, Jacob, both at home; grandparents: Mark Van Der Steen (special friend April), Vickie Miller (special friend Rob),Bruce (Mickey) Petrie, Jacque Dresang, and Dave (Mary) Halbach; great-grandparents: Carol (Jerry) Van Der Steen, Paul (Eileen) Petrie, Marie Miller, and Berniece Young; three uncles and an aunt: Paul (fiancée Kristen), Jay, Gary, and Angie (Ed) Gonnering. She is further survived by numerous other friends and relatives.
    She was preceded in death by her mothers: Jaime Petrie and Anni Van Der Steen; grandfather, Al Young, great-grandfathers: Jerome Miller and Ronald Young, great-grandparents: Bob and Evelyn Hopfensperger.
    Funeral services for Miah will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 West Seventh St., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating.
