    Biography:
HERMAN BONNIN, chairman of Liberty township, and one of the leading agriculturists of this section, has been closely identified with public and agricultural affairs here for a number of years. He is a son of William Bonnin, who was born in Germany and came from that country to the United States in 1857, with his wife, Rosa (Klaveter) Bonnin, and four children, and located in Milwaukee, where the family lived for two years. A short stay was then made in West Bend, Wisconsin, and Mr. Bonnin then took up wild land in Liberty township, which he cleared and converted into a fertile farm, and there he spent the remainder of his life, dying December 10, 1902, his wife having passed away ten years before. Four more children were born to this couple in America. Herman Bonnin was born in the village of West Bend, Wisconsin, September 26, 1858, and as a boy worked on his father's farm and for other farmers, in the lumber camps and on the railroads, bringing the money earned home to his father until he was twenty-one years of age. For four or five years after attaining his majority Mr. Bonnin continued to work this way saving his money carefully until he had accumulated enough to purchase his present farm. In 1886 Mr. Bonnin was married to Lena Rader, daughter of Frederick and Mary Rader, natives of Germany, who came to Outagamie county and settled in Maple Creek township. Mrs. Bonnin was born in Milwaukee. She and her husband have had ten children: Martin, Charles, Arthur, Alma, Herman, Harvey, Clara, Walter, Lawrence and Lorena. Mr. Bonnin served as town treasurer for four years, school treasurer six years and health official six years, and at present is township chairman, having also served on, the township board for several terms. His brother, Christian Bonnin of Shawano county, was a member of the State Assembly. Mr. and Mrs. Bonnin are consistent members of the German Lutheran Church of New London.

    Obituary:
Wilmer "Bill" Petit, age 91, Fremont, went to his Eternal Home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at St. Joseph Residence. Bill was born on November 5, 1920, in New London son of the late Louis and Lillian (Bonnin) Petit. On June 17, 1944, Bill was united in marriage to Eunice Beschta. They resided northeast of New London. Bill worked construction for Miron until age 20. Shortly after, he bought a farm in Caledonia Township, Fremont and farmed with his family for over 60 years. Bill's passion for farming and the outdoors was evident. He purchased numerous farms in the area and was proud of how he grew the business. Upon retiring, his passion continued as he spent countless hours driving around his land, watching homes go up in the subdivision that was developed on one farm, he also watched as crops were planted in the spring and as they matured and were harvested in the fall. He took great pride in his apple orchard and giving apples to his family and friends. Bill enjoyed fishing and boating fun on his houseboat, polka dancing, snowmobiling, vacationing with family and friends, and playing a good game of sheepshead. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bill is survived by his children: Judy (Mark) Fellers, Ron (Kathy) Petit, Mike (Patti) Petit, Steve (Bonnie) Petit, all of Fremont; a Brother, Victor (Rita) Petit; Grandchildren: Keith Boutwell (special friend, Melissa Wick), Lisa (Todd) Thiel, Joelle VerHagen, Jennifer (Chris) VanAsten, Karianne (Jason) Arendt, Clint Petit, Kyle Petit, Jeremy (Jenny) Jeffers, Shanda (Mick) Stachurski, Sara (Brian) Montonati, Tia Petit, Heather (Scott) Springer, Robert Tetzlaff, and Melissa Tetzlaff. Clell "Kelly" Bohm, age 83, of Larsen, died Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. He was born April 10, 1930, in the Wrightstown/DePere area to the late Alfred and Dorothy (Nequette) Bohm. Kelly and Marilyn loved to travel and visited many states with their camper, including fulfilling their lifelong dream of driving through Canada to Alaska. He also enjoyed gardening, hosting family corn roasts, and was always up for a good game of cribbage.
