    Obituary:
    Edward R. Brantmeier, 84, Menasha, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. On Dec. 31, 1927, Edward Robert was born in Menasha, son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Krause) Brantmeier. Eddie enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served during World War II. In September of 1948, Eddie was united in marriage to Elaine Ackerman in Oshkosh. He had worked for the Neenah Foundry for over 43 years and retired in 1990.
    Ed enjoyed riding his bike to the park and talking to his friends at Tony's in Menasha. He also loved to travel and read, but especially loved spending time with his grandkids and family.
    Eddie will be missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Elaine; his children, Rick (Bobbie) Brantmeier, Patti (Marc Oltra) Helein, and Diane (Jim) Kolakowski; his grandchildren, Chad and Jeremy Brantmeier, Jenny (Bill) Honkanen, Ronnie (Deb) Zawacki, Joshua Helein; step-grandchildren, Matt and Lisa Kolakowski; great-grandchildren, Maria and Faith Helein, Ronnie Zawacki III, Tobias Honkanen; sisters-in-law, Carol Miller and Mildred Brantmeier; his good friends and neighbors, Eupha Koslowski and Joyce Birling; other family members and friends.
    He was also preceded in death by his brother, Rueben Brantmeier; his sisters, Dorothy Speakes, Catherine Mix, Viola Hartzheim; other family and his good friend, John Birling.
    A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha, with Deacon Rick Dvorak officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of the Prayer Service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Misty Johnson and the staff on the Cardiac Unit at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Your loving care and kindness helped us in our time of need.

    Paula Jean Hartzheim, 56, Menasha, went to Heaven on Saturday, May 14, 2011, surrounded by family and her faithful dog, Buddy, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 6, 1954, in Neenah, daughter of the late Paul and Viola (Brantmeier) Hartzheim. Paula was a lifetime resident of Menasha.
    Paula enjoyed playing cards and darts, as well as being with family and friends. Her three nephews and three great-nieces and great-nephew were a special part of her life. She was able to take a trip this spring to North Carolina to meet her newest great-niece and see the rest of the family.
    Paula is survived by her sister, Margaret, "Peg" (Dennis) Piepkorn; three nephews, Shane (Sally) Piepkorn, Green Bay, and their girls, Molly and Emily; Andy (Christy) Piepkorn, Green Bay, and their children, Gavin, Julia and Cory Piepkorn; aunts and uncles, Leon Hartzheim (godfather), Darboy; Dave (Dolores) Hartzheim, Sun City, Calif.; Grace (Carl) Kessler, Combined Locks; Millie Brantmeier, Menasha; Ed (Elaine) Brantmeier, Menasha; special friends, Sally Montanabo, Menasha; Pat Kersten, Menasha; helpful friends and neighbors, Robin, Chris, Pauline, Bob and Deb.
    A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. A Prayer Service will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
    The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, meals and friendship. Special thanks to Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, Dr. Goggins, Jennifer and staff, Affinity Hospice Fox Valley, Fayettville, N.C.
