    Henry Verbockel, "Hammerin' Hank", 71, Shiocton, died on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center with his loving wife Marilyn by his side. Henry was born on May 8, 1940, son of Henry and Alvina (Gustman) Verbockel in Woodville Township (Calumet County). On July 5, 1966, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Muthig in Menomonee, Mich.
    Henry worked for Badger Highway as a Operating Engineer for 33 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Local #139. In his younger years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time up north at the cabin.
    Henry is survived by his wife, Marilyn, Shiocton; his mother, Alvina Verbockel, Kaukauna; his children, Kathy Steinbach, Shiocton; Sue Lund, California; Henry Jr. (Gail) Verbockel, Marinette; Larry (Robin) Verbockel, Alabama; Robert James (Alana) Verbockel, South Carolina; Carla Senn, Appleton; Carrie (Scott) Herrmann, Appleton; Clark (Sherri) Verbockel, Georgia; Carol Anthony, Appleton; a brother, Ralph Verbockel, Stockbridge; sisters, Helen (James) Guilfoyle, Port Edwards; Florence (Jim) Hietpas, Sherwood; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Verbockel, Kaukauna; and Carolyn Muthig, Green Bay; brothers-in-law, Bob (Darlene) Muthig, Shiocton; and Bill (Carolyn) Muthig, Brillion; 26 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; a brother, Alvin; sister-in-law, Betty; a granddaughter, Rochelle Anderson; son-in-law, Roger Steinbach; and brother-in-law, Albert Muthig.
    Funeral services for Henry will be held on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton, with the Rev. Jon Paquette officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
