Obituary:
Kenneth M. Conradt, age 88, of Seymour, formerly of Shiocton, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born on July 31, 1920, in the Town of Bovina, son of the late Edwin and Theresa (Holzman) Conradt. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Shiocton. He graduated from Shiocton High School in 1938. On October 26, 1940, he married Elda Koehler at St. John's Lutheran Church in Deer Creek. They farmed for 25 years in Shiocton. He then worked for Shiocton Lumber Co. for many years and then for Landwehr, Inc. for 18 years. He also served on the Shiocton School Board. He was a faithful member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elda; a son, Russell (Carla) Conradt, Shiocton; a daughter, Fayette (John) Belt, Waupaca; three grandchildren: Christin (Mike) Sullivan, Mosinee; Craig Conradt, Shiocton; Cathy (Tom) Gauger, Wausau; five great-grandchildren: Shay and Jayden Sullivan, Gavin and Garett Gauger, and Cameron Conradt.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Alvin (Rosie) Conradt; two sons-in-law: Steven Hetzel and William Cameron; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Walter (Freida) Volz; a niece Joanne Lodzinski and nephew Eugene Conradt.
The Christian Funeral for Kenneth will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton with Rev. Bradley E. Ragner officiating. Burial will be in the Bovina Cemetery, Town of Bovina. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at Good Shepherd, and also Heartland Hospice for their care and concern of Ken.
