    Obituary:
    Koerner, Shirley A. - In her own words, Shirley wants all to know that she has completed her earthly journey on September 18, 2007, and now resides in the Kingdom of God. After seeing Jesus, she will see her relatives and friends, especially her parents Elmer and Edna (Gehring) Koerner and her brother Stan.
    Her circle will be complete when she is joined by her sister Erla and brother-in-law George Ermers, her brother Silas, her three nephews, their wives and children, namely, Scott and Laurie Ermers, Tom and the late Cindy Ermers and Gary and Barbara Ermers.
    Having shared Shirley's words, her family would like to add that for us, Shirley was a tremendous blessing in our life. Her contagious laugh, her gentle touch and her outward love of the Lord humbled us over the years. She endured severe trials in life yet not once did her faith falter. We learned by her example to live the life God gives us, confident in the knowledge that his grace is sufficient for us ... just as he promised.
    Shirley's life included many years of employment at The (Appleton) Post-Crescent before she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. She received her bachelor's degree from UW Wisconsin and her master's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After her schooling, she taught Psychiatric Nursing at Marion College in Fond du lac, Nursing at UW-Oshkosh and Nursing at FVTC. Shirley was a lifetime congregation member of Zion Lutheran Church.
    Shirley is now able to once again enjoy what she has been unable to do for so many years. She is dancing and singing in the glory of Jesus Christ.
    Visitation for Shirley will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Wichmann Funeral Home. Private family graveside services will be held at a later time, with Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. A memorial in Shirley's name is being established.
    The family would like to thank Shirley's friends who lifted her spirits over the years and especially all the wonderful care givers and nurses involved in her life.
