    Obituary:
    Bette Gibbs, 69, Larsen, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born May 9, 1945, in Appleton, daughter of Louis and Anne (Hornbeck) Nabbefeld. On October 5, 1968, Bette married Charles Gibbs "Jiggs", in Neenah, and he preceded her in death January 23, 2014. Bette was self-employed with her home design business for 22 years. She was a people-person and loved getting to know others. Bette liked playing cards, canning, and gardening, as well as traveling and camping with family. She was also a dedicated caregiver to her husband until his death. Bette was a member of the Winchester Lioness Club, and volunteered with her church, St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne.
    Bette is survived by her three daughters: Jackie (John) Thompson, Larsen; Jennie (Gene) Smit and their children: Paige and Ian, Neenah; and Jesse (Dan) Holland and their children: Drew and Alex, Madison; her mother-in-law, Helen Gibbs; 4 sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Joan Longsine, Janet (Al) Elsworth, Patti (Rick) Harrer, Mary (Jeff) Gross, and Steve Gibbs; cousins: Michael (Anne) Nabbefeld and Bonnie Nabbefeld; other relatives and many friends.
    Bette was also preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Charles Gibbs; and a brother-in-law, Michael Gibbs.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. A memorial has been established in Bette's name.
    Bette's daughters would like to thank all of the staff in the Neuro IMCU at Theda Clark Medical Center, as well as ThedaCare Hospice at Cherry Meadows, for their loving care for their mom.
