    Jane M. McDonald, age 88, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010, at her home in Appleton. Jane was born on July 15, 1922, in Oshkosh, daughter of the late John and Lydia (Schroeder) Strey. She was a longtime resident of Appleton and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Jane married Gerald McDonald on November 5, 1949, in Oshkosh. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Lake Butte des Morts, and loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
    Jane is survived by her children, Tom McDonald, Batavia, IL, Tim (Kathy) McDonald, Greenville, Mary McDonald, Appleton, and Scott (Connie) McDonald, Verona, WI; four grandchildren, Kelly and Kasey McDonald, and Ryan and Eryn McDonald; a sister, Phyllis Jaeger; and two sisters-in-law, Josephine Strey, Oshkosh, and Maureen Rathman, Fond du Lac; and many other relatives and friends.
    She was further preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; and her brothers and sisters, Ralph, Jack, August, Wayne, Loretta, Dorothy and Marcella.
    The funeral service for Jane will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh.
