    Dennis, Audrey Jean
    Audrey Jean Dennis, 72, Howard, passed away on Oct. 25, 2002, at the Odd F ellow Home after a brave two -year battle with cancer. The former Audrey S teffens was born Dec. 17, 1929, to Joseph and Mabel (Suelflohn) Steffe ns in Green Bay, Wis. Audrey graduated from Green Bay West High School, a nd married Thomas Dennis Oct. 18, 1947, at St. Patrick's Catholic Churc h, Green Bay. They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. Audrey work ed for the HC Prange Co. and retired in 1976 after many years of servic e. They lived in Howard since February 1976. Audrey enjoyed going on the " Fun Bus" to Menominee Casino, loved having family parties, telling jokes a nd stories, doing puzzle books; and in the past did knitting, snowmobilin g, and boating. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
    Audrey is survived by her husband, Thomas; sons, Richard (Cindy), Green Ba y; Gary, Green Bay; daughters, Lynn (Fran) Laes, Green Bay; Karen (Gary) S cott, Sobieski; grandchildren, James Dennis, Green Bay; Melissa Scott, a nd Sarah Scott, Green Bay; two brothers, Donald (Marg) Steffens, Tacoma, W ash.; James Steffens, Milwaukee; two sisters, Phyllis (Douglas) Larson, Gr een Bay; Doris (Gary) Meert, Green Bay; also many nieces, nephews, and clo se friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Steffens.
    "I am not going to cry about this, so I don't want anyone to cry for me ," Audrey Dennis.
    The family will receive friends at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Car dinal Lane, Howard, on Monday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. and fr om 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. John the Baptist Church, Howard. Ma ss of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Smith officiating. Ent ombment to follow. Andrew J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director.
    In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been establi shed in Audrey's name at the funeral home.
    The family extends a special thank you to Oncology Dept., Dr. Volk and D r. Jaslowski and staff, Unity Hospice, especially Paula, and the Odd Fell ow Home and staff for their excellent care.
