    Ruth Dorothy (Hansen) Bernetzke, 95, died peacefully at the Rennes Health Center on Sept. 5, 2008. She was born on Oct. 22, 1912, daughter of Asmus and Minnie Hansen. She married Theodore Bernetzke and the two farmed together in the town of Freedom until Ted's passing in 1975. Ruth was member of the Freedom Moravian Church and the Friendly Service Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and camping with Dennis. She hardly ever missed one of her grandson's basketball games and enjoyed a good Sheepshead game.
    Ruth is survived by her son, James and his wife, Debbie; seven grandchildren, Jerry (Cindy) Bernetzke, Carol Steggens, Ken Bernetzke, Kristi (Jeff) Crooks, Jason (Jessica) Bernetzke, Josh (fiancee, Jamie Malouf) Bernetzke, Jake (special friend, Jen Evers) Bernetzke; six (one on the way) great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Vander Velden and Lucille Campbell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; two sons, Robert (at birth) and Dennis; three brothers and their wives, Lawrence (Minnie) Hansen, Chester (Minnie) Hansen, Elmer (Frieda) Hansen; three sisters and their husbands, Martha (Joe) Schmidt, Margaret (Clarence) Schneider, Josephine (Carlton) Andrews and two brothers-in-law, Virgil Vander Velden and Stanley Campbell; and Ted's brother and sisters.
    Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, and Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at the Freedom Moravian Church from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason Anderson officiating.     The family would like to thank the staff of Rennes Health Center for the great care of Ruth and a special thank you to the kitchen staff; she loved your great cooking.

    Obituary:
    Dennis E. Bernetzke, Freedom, age 62, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 10, 1944, in Appleton, the son of Ruth (Hansen) Bernetzke and the late Theodore Bernetzke. Dennis owned and operated his own farm in the Town of Freedom until his retirement. He was a member of the Freedom Moravian Church. Dennis enjoyed traveling, the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, especially Tony Stewart, golfing and time spent with family and friends.
    He is survived by his mother, Ruth Bernetzke, Appleton; his children: Jerry (Cindy) Bernetzke, Appleton; Carol Steffens, Menasha; Ken Bernetzke, also of Menasha; his four grandchildren: Corey Bernetzke, Nicki Swokowski, Erin Steffens, Katie Benetzke; two great-grandchildren, Dru and Tye; also, his brother, James (Debra) Bernetzke, Seymour.
    He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother, Robert.
    Friends may call at the Freedom Moravian Church, on Thursday, April 26, 2007, from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 6:30 p.m., with Reverend Jason Anderson officiating.
