    John (Rube) Verstegen, 74, Little Chute, died Saturday afternoon. He was a lifelong resident of Little Chute. Mr. Verstegen was probably best known in Kaukauna, Little Chute and the entire Fox River Valley as one of the finest pitchers in the semiprofessional leagues in the early 1900's. According to Anton "Casey" Jansen, one of his teammates, "Verstegen struck out 18 to 20 men in a single baseball game when he was on and seldom had a off day".

    Beata M. "Bea" Hahn, age 85, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, October 26, 2017. She was born in Little Chute on August 22, 1932.
    Bea married Paul Van Eyck in 1949, and together they had four children before his passing in 1955. She then married Dick Hahn in 1957, and together they had one son. Bea was an extremely active member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Al-Anon and TOPS. She made countless very special relationships with many other members of those organizations. Bea loved spending time with her family, especially while camping and attending the yearly family reunion.
    Bea is survived by her children: Sue Miller, Gerald (Edna) Van Eyck, daughter-in-law, Lois Van Eyck, Paula (Bob) Vander Weyst, and Dennis (Michelle) Hahn; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and siblings: Darrel Hinkens and Bonnie (Don) Thews.
    Bea was preceded in death by her husbands: Paul Van Eyck and Dick Hahn; a son, Phil Van Eyck; grandson, Alex Johnson; great granddaughter, Alexa Price; her mother, Helen Hinkens Miller; brothers: Romy (Mary) Hinkens and Duane (Ginny) Hinkens; and a sister-in-law, Barb Hinkens.
    Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 St. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating.     Romy J. Hinkens, age 75, of Fremont, died on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at his home. He was born on October 6, 1934, in Little Chute, Wisconsin, the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Verstegen) Hinkens. On April 16, 1955, Romy married Mary Heckel in Appleton. Romy was employed by the Appleton School System for 15 years before retiring. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega. Romy served as a Boy Scout Scoutmaster for Troop 105 in Freedom for many years. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing, and was also an RV enthusiast, and enjoyed watching many sports. Romy also enjoyed spending time with his family in Neillsville.
    Romy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary; his children: Dave (Kari), Freedom; Doug (Christy) Wausau; Diane Baumgart (special friend, Jack), Hortonville; Debbie (Bob) Lauer, Hortonville; 11 grandchildren: Kristen, Kimberly, Keri, Kassidy, Craig, Penny, Michael, Tina, Robert, Amanda and Holly; 10 great-grandchildren: Cody, Thyra, Amya, Annaliese, Alana, Rylan, Aidan, Jyllian, Addison and Issabella; two sisters: Beata (Richard) Hahn, Little Chute; Bonnie (Don) Thews, Menasha; a brother, Daryl (Barb) Hinkens, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Ginny Hinkens, Appleton; three stepbrothers: Flloyd (June) Miller, Merlin Miller and Norman Miller.
    Romy was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Baumgart; a brother, J. Duane Hinkens; his stepfather, Barney Miller; three half-sisters: Grace VanBeek, Bernice Zwiers and Cynthia LeClere, and a half-brother, Raymond Hinkens.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 105 N. Lincoln St., Weyauwega. Father Bert Samsa, OFM, Cap. will officiate. Entombment will be held in Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont.     Dennis Allan "Rueben" Verstegen, Little Chute, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2017 at home. He was born on June 30, 1954, son of the late Stanley and Lillian (Johnson) Verstegen.
    Dennis was a loyal employee of 36 years at the paper mill in Kimberly through all the changes in ownership until it closed in September 2008 under the direction of New Page. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and liked to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed sharing his stories with friends and family. Dennis loved his family and was very proud of his eight grandchildren.
    Dennis will forever be remembered by his three daughters, Jennifer (Terry) Cornelius and their two children Levi and Payton, Stephanie (David) Weber and their three children Jackson, Ava, and Bailey. Melanie (Todd) Wyland and their three children Evan, Emma, and Madelyn. He is survived by his siblings: Gayle (John) Reider and their three children Jeanna (Mark) Rodriguez, Leah (Andy) Lancour, Kristina Reider; Cathy (Mark) Mantei and their two children Sean (Erika) Mantei and Jessica Mantei; Sharon Verstegen (Dale Siebers), and Amy (Steve) Sprister and their three children Mikayla, Jake and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Lillian (Johnson) Verstegen, and his brother John Verstegen.

    DeBruin, Curtis J. 15 11 W. Kimberly AvenueKimberlyAge 28, passed away unexpectedly at work on Wednesday, December 18, 200 2. Curt was born in Appleton on December 16, 1974; the son of Ken and P at (Felton) DeBruin of Combined Locks. Curt was a 1992 graduate of the Kim berly High School and for a short time worked as a carpenter. Later, he be came interested in electrical work. He trained to become a journeyman elec trician, and was currently employed by Enterprise Electric. Curt was an av id Packer fan and enjoyed attending the home games. He also loved music, h ad an extensive record collection, and enjoyed playing the drums. Mo st of his time was spent improving his recently purchased home in Kimberly .Curt is survived by his parents, Ken and Pat DeBruin, Combined Locks; h is paternal grandparents, Urban and Rita DeBruin, Kimberly; a brother, Gr eg (Mollie) DeBruin, Appleton; his special friend, Melanie Marasch and h er son Bailey, Combined Locks; his good friend and roommate, Greg Plass, K imberly; as well as by several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, a nd many friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his maternal g randparents Jerrold and Sybil Felton, an uncle George Felton, an aunt Je an Ruebekeil, and a cousin Robbin Roberts.The funeral liturgy for Curt will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, Decem ber 21, 2002 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street in Combin ed Locks with Fr. Robert Vandenberg officiating. Interment will be in t he parish cemetery.
