Alzheimer's The ThiefA thief came awhile back and slowly took our Dad away. He didn't
do it all at once, but by tiny pieces every day.At first we hardly noticed and sometimes even smiles. "Oh, he's just getti ng older," we told
ourselves, our long suit was denial. The haunted look for what once was the searching, asking, pacing, the thief had all the cards in hand, with time against Dad racing.Dad tried his best with what he had, and Lord knows we did too, but the
thief just took control and stole each bit of him we knew. But now that hard battle's over, and Dad's resting in his final Home.
God made the thief give back to us The Father we had known.
