Obituary:
Nancy M. Peters, Freedom, age 55, died on Tuesday, December 25, 2007, peacefully at home with her family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 19, 1952, to William and Harriet (Kemps) Conrad at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Nancy graduated from Freedom High School in 1971. She married Dennis Peters on December 18, 1971, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. Nancy worked in the healthcare field throughout her life, beginning with the Outagamie Health Center in 1970, moving to St. E's from 1971 until 1973, taking sabbatical to raise her family from 1973-1986 and then returning to the work force in 1986 working for the Visiting Nursing Association and continued on with the Kaukauna School System from 1994-1999. She worked at Affinity Occupational Health as a medical assistant from 1999 until her death. Nancy volunteered as a first responder in the Town of Freedom for eleven years, was an active member of Freedom VFW Post 7692 Women's Auxiliary and the Catholic Knights for over 25 years. Nancy was also an entrepreneur, owning and operating a wedding cake business from 1990-1999. She enjoyed baking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. No sacrifice was to big or too small, she was always putting others before herself and her generosity will be missed by all. Her six grandchildren always brought a smile to her face and helped her during her difficult battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Denny Peters; her mother, Harriet Conrad; four sons: Brian (Valerie) Peters, Little Chute and their two children, Gianna and Ava; Tim Peters, Freedom; Scott (Audra) Peters, Freedom and their three children: Cassandra, Carly and Alicia; Adam (special friend, Kelli Woldt), Freedom, and her daughter, Mikenna; a daughter, Brenda (Ryan) Krueger, Neshkoro, WI, and their daughter, Hannah; six brothers: Lyle (Connie) Conrad, Oshkosh; Robert "Bob" Conrad, Freedom; Donald (Shirley) Conrad, De Pere; Roy (Betty) Conrad, Appleton; Bill Jr. (Linda) Conrad, Freedom; Randy Conrad, Freedom; a sister, Carol (Mark) Farrell, Little Chute, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, William A. Conrad, Sr. and her mother- and father-in-law, Clarence and Violet (Meltz) Peters, her step- mother-in-law, Erdine Willenkamp, and many aunts and uncles.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday December 29, 2007, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom with Fr. David Hoffman officiating. Friends will be received on Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:30 pm at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, and again on Saturday at Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. All are welcome to join the family in the Church cafeteria for luncheon and fellowship following the service. Interment is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Peters Community Cemetery on French Rd. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 920-766-2099.
