Bries, Norbert J.Norbert J. Bries, 86, died, Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at an area nursing hom e. He was born April 25, 1919, in the Town of Lawrence, to the late Albe rt and Mary (Van De Hei) Bries. On June 14, 1947 he married Bernadette Win kel. Together, they were members of the Town Club and Mystery Hills Golf C lub. He enjoyed fishing in Sturgeon Bay. Norbert was a member of the U. S. Army from Feb. 26, 1941, through Aug. 29, 1945, serving in Ardennes Rhi neland Central Europe. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Defen se Service Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Easte rn Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Battle Stars, five overseas service ba rs and one service stripe. Norbert was employed in auto sales with Van Dri sse Ford, Lincoln, Mercury; Cuene Buick; and Brennan Buick. He was al so a member of the Elks Club.Survivors include his wife, Bernadette "Dolly" Bries, Green Bay; son, Norb ert Michael (Patricia) Bries, Mundelein, Ill.; one grandchild, Michelle; t wo brothers, Gerald, Green Bay; Bryon (Kathleen), Madison; sisters-in-la w, nieces, nephews and other relatives.In addition to his parents, Norbert was preceded in death by five brother s, Robert, Sherman, Oliver, Donald and Jack Bries; one sister, Mildred Kas ter.A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
