    Obituary:
Lyle H. Mielke, age 64, of Black Creek, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007, in Appleton following a courageous battle with cancer. Lyle was born on January 13, 1943, in Green Bay, the son of the late Louis and Beatrice (Rusch) Mielke. On October 10, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sandra Bahr at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, White Clay Lake. Lyle worked as a Journeyman Carpenter from 1970 until 1982 when he became the owner/operator of L M Trucking, driving until May of this year. In 1998, he was awarded Driver/Owner of the Year by the JELCO Transportation Inc. Lyle loved to travel and would take many trips with his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He looked forward to yearly fishing trips on Lake Michigan, near Kewaunee, where he would spend time each summer and traveling to South Dakota for pheasant hunting. But most of all, he enjoyed his time spent with his family and the many visits from his grandson, Brandon. Lyle was known to all those who loved him as the person who could fix anything and was known as the "man of steel" to his family.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra; his two sons: Mike (Peggy) Mielke, Black Creek, Brad Mielke, Black Creek; and his grandson, Brandon Armatoski. Lyle is further survived by a sister, Carla (Roger) Phiel, Clintonville; 1 sister-in-law, Sharon (Ron) Sperberg, Shawano; a brother-in-law, Bob Bahr, Cecil; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including special niece and nephew, Lisa Fortum and Mark Sperberg; and special friends, Jenny and Michelle.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Maynard Bahr; and Sandra's parents, Robert and Verna Bahr.
Lyle's wish was to be cremated and have private family services, which will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007, at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hematology and Oncology Department at the Martha Siekman Cancer Center, St. Elizabeth's 4th Floor Oncology nurses LuAnn and Oscar, and to the radiation department at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for their wonderful care and support.
