Obituary:
Margaret J. Goertz, 82, Schofield, passed away on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton.
She was born Feb. 26, 1924, in New Lisbon, to the late William and Emma (O'Conner) Drumm. Margaret was a graduate of Edgar High School. On July 16, 1947, Margaret married Harry Goertz in Pine City, Minn. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1990.
Margaret had been employed at various grocery stores in Schofield and Wausau. She was a charter member of Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, Schofield and a food pantry volunteer. Margaret enjoyed reading, bird watching, traveling, gardening, and collecting paper weights.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Richard) Nicolaison, Appleton; two sons, John (Stephanie) Goertz, Irma; Jeff (Delores Owenby) Goertz, Wausau; five grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Goertz, Jennifer Goertz, Sara (Justin) Yotter, Joshua Goertz, and Jessica Goertz; and three great-grandchildren, Adam, Tyler, and Candice Goertz.
Margaret was preceded in death by six brothers, Farrand, Roy, Howard, Harland, William, and Donald Drumm.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday at Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, 1806 Weston Ave., Schofield. Reverend Sid Bouldin will officiate. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
