    Obituary:
Joan Marie Gruentzel Harke, age 66 of Clintonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7th at Shawano Medical Center, with her loving husband Don by her side.
Joan was born on April 4, 1946 to Simon and Angeline (Bruette) Gruentzel. She was later united in marriage to Donald Harke at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville on March 15, 1985.
Joan was employed by the New London Family Medical Center as a nurse for many years. She had such a warm heart and truly was the type of person who enjoyed helping others in any way she could. Joan lived life to its fullest and more than anything loved spending time with her family and friends. Camping was one of her many favorite activities. During the warmer months Don and Joan spent every moment they could with their friends Ken & Sue at their permanent campsite in Fremont. Joan wasn't one to pass up a good deal when she saw one. She had a passion for thrift store shopping and rummage sales. Joan loved to collect angel figurines which started after surviving a near-death experience three years ago.
Survivors include her loving husband Donald P. Harke, her daughter Kay L. (Dean) Arndt, Clintonville along with her granddaughter Tara L (Mark) Hildebrand, Green Bay and her grandsons Patrick (Mandi) Gorman, Appleton and Justin Arndt, Oshkosh; her son Ronald S. (Kris) Drath, along with her granddaughter Danielle; her brother Steven (Jodi) Gruentzel, New London; her sister Susan (Lalo) Duenes, Appleton; her brothers-in-law Richard Harke, Clintonville, & Tom Harke, Shawano, a sister-in-law Carol Harke, Clintonville, her nieces Toni Gruentzel, Appleton, Trisha (Stacy) Peterson, Appleton, Kerry Gruentzel, Milwaukee; her nephews Joey (Nicole) Gruentzel; New London; Carlo Duenes, Appleton; Pablo Duenes, Appleton; and James Gruentzel, Milwaukee. Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Angeline (Bruette) Gruentzel; her father, Simon Gruentzel, her brother-in-law, James Harke, and her former husband, Robert S. Drath.
Funeral Services will be held at The First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 11th, 2012, with Pastor Greg Watling officiating. Friends may visit from 5 - 7 PM on Monday at the church and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of service. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family. www.eberhardtstevenson.com.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Cynthia Egan for her many years of dedicated care and to Dr. Maria Aristigueta for her specialized care.
Although I'm not with you anymore, I'm with the Lord above; Surrounded by his tender peace and filled with perfect love; There is no more worry, there is no more pain. No more suffering, no more sorrow, no more strain. So when tomorrow starts without me; don't ever think we're that far apart. For every time you think of me - I'm right here… in your heart!
