    Obituary:
Neenah - Ronald Eugene Meyer, age 62, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully napping in his favorite chair at his Grottage on Friday, July 6, 2018 in Weyauwega. He was born on September 10, 1955 in Neenah to Eugene August Meyer and Betty Jean Wilke. Ron graduated from Neenah High School in 1973. He married the love of his life on November 10, 1984. He affectionately called Debi his "bride" for almost 34 years. He retired in 2015 after working for Menasha Packaging for 38 years as a Slitter Operator. Ron was known for his quick wit and famous one-liners. He was very generous and always remained positive during his battle with Esophageal Cancer, which surely contributed to his latest cancer free PET Scan. He was a devoted grandfather that was always doing something to make sure his grandkids had fun. He set up the pool every year, he made a baseball diamond at the land and his latest surprise for them two days before his passing was setting up a zip line at the Grottage for them to enjoy.
Anyone that knew Ron knew he loved all things nature. His kids enjoyed spending time doing the things their Dad loved, such as his love of motorcycles, scuba diving, hunting and fishing. He loved helping with school projects, doing woodworking projects and every winter he would put together a scenic puzzle with his family. He was definitely a morning person, singing and dancing often. He loved animals and was known to bring home random pets that they added to the Meyer zoo; including fish, sheep, various lizards, a bunny and many dogs throughout the years. There were so many facets of his loving personality. Those that were close to him knew he made the best homemade apple pies, peanut clusters, and deep-fried fish. He was very fun-loving, but also had a romantic side. Debi saved the many poems he wrote to her over the years. One of her special memories was how he tattooed her name on his wedding finger. He loved the Green Bay Packers & Milwaukee Brewers - and of course...the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everyone who took the time to get close to him, truly feel like he touched their lives in a way that can never be replaced. He made life fun. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Ron is survived by his mother, Betty Douglas of Neenah; wife, Debi Meyer of Neenah; children: Ronald (Michelle) Meyer of Neenah, Tracy (Jason) Abraham of Neenah, Jamie (Kelly) Hintzelman of Greendale, Michelle (Nate) Glab of Neenah; siblings: Sharon Beyer of Menasha, Jeanne (Wayne) Myhill of Neenah, Keith (Sherri) Beyer of Arlington, WI, Steve (Linda) Meyer of Crandon, Todd (Mary) Beyer of New London, Troy (Lori) Beyer of Iola, Roy (Charlotte) Beyer of Neenah; grandchildren: Lauren & Grace Meyer of Neenah; Micah, Sonnet, Brooklyn & Peyton Abraham of Neenah; Abby & Brody Hitzelman of Greendale; and Nolan & Ryker Glab of Neenah. He's further survived by his uncles, aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends that were truly his extended family (you all know who you are)! He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Meyer of Neenah; stepfather, LeRoy Beyer of Neenah; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The Funeral Service for Ron will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah, with Russell Grohman officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ron's life. The family would like to thank everyone that has sent their warm wishes and condolences. A special thank you goes to ThedaCare Cancer Center and to Froedtert Medical Hospital.
