    Blanche Hewitt Bowen Handley, 97, passed away on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, in McAllen, Texas. She was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Greenville, to Julius and Helga (Skafte) Christianson, the third of four daughters. During the past 55 years, Blanche was a resident of McAllen. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hewitt, McAllen; one grandson, Douglas "Bo" Hewitt, Piedmont, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews. Blanche was preceded in death by her son, William Hewitt; her parents; three sisters, Grace, Ramona and Vonda; and three husbands, John "Jack" Hewitt, Sr., Ralph Bowen and Clay Handley. A Private Funeral Service was held on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and Pastor Dan Luett officiated. Interment was in the Winneconne Cemetery.
