    Obituary:
    Randall John Hanus, 77, of Freedom, died Thursday July 21, 2016 at Theda Care Medical Center, Appleton. He was born in Oshkosh, July 7, 1939, son of the late Frank Sr., and Mary (Gams) Hanus. Randall married Joan Kroening on April 23, 1966. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2012.
    Randall was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton; he served as an usher, and enjoyed being part of the church bible study groups. Randall served as a Delegate and Treasurer of the Appleton Labor Temple for over 40 years, and was a member of Union Local 330. He worked as a laborer for both Bolt and C.R. Meyer Construction; he retired from C.R. Meyer Construction in 1995. Randall stayed active after he retired; he drove coach and school buses for 15 years, and volunteered his time to several activities and causes that were close to him. Randall was an avid Brewer, Packer, and NASCAR fan, he enjoyed attending races. Randall's greatest enjoyment came from attending his grandchildren's sporting events, especially his granddaughter Taylor throughout her softball career.
    Randall is survived by his 2 sons: Dave (Karen Kemp) Hanus, DePere, and Brian (Jen) Hanus, Greenville; 5 grandchildren: Taylor, Christopher, Cassie, Kara, and Alex Hanus; his very close sister: Mary Ellen Peeters, Navarino; his very special friend: Cindy Raatz; brother in-law: Thomas Kroening, Shawano; and many nieces and nephews. He was further preceded in death by 5 brothers: Daniel, Roger, Frank Jr., Michael, and an infant brother; sister: Bonnie Daebler; and a brother in-law: Bill Peeters.
    Funeral service for Randall will be 11:00 AM on Monday July 25, 2016, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E Glendale Ave, Appleton, with Rev Aaron Rosenau officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday morning beginning at 9:00 until 10:45 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
    Randall's family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing and hospice staff at Theda Care Regional Medical Center, Appleton, whose care and compassion was greatly appreciated.
