    Obituary:
    Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Koffend Peabody Manor, Appleton Age 84, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. The daughter of Dr. Samuel Slosson and Dr. Emily Brooke Slosson, was born March 31, 1891 in Sabetha, Kansas. Mrs. Koffend was a teacher in the Appleton Public School system for a period of 3 years, was active in the Red Cross Blood Donor Program during World War II and was also a long time member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she had known all the Congregational ministers and was a teacher in the Beginner's Sunday School Department for many years. Mrs. Koffend was also a member of the Wed- nesday Club, and Over the Teacups Club. Survivors include her tw0 daughters, Mrs. James (Mary) Dewey of Glenview, Illinois and Mrs. Richard (Jean) Bush of Tokyo, Japan; three sons, Joseph Koffend III of Eugene, Oregon, John Brooke Koffend of Bali, In- donesia, and Frank Steele Koffend of Appleton; 13 grandchildren; and 2 greatgrandsons. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at First Congregational Church Chapel with the Rev. Maynard Beemer office- ating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials to the First Congreg- ational Church will be appreciated. The Wichmann Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
