Obituary:
Rohloff, Vernice May (Becker) On the evening of Friday, February 19, 2016, Vernice passed away peacefully at Marquardt Village Assisted Living. Vernice was comforted by family members throughout her stay and at the time of her passing. She was 90 years old.
Vernice was born in the town of Kaukauna in Outagamie County, Wisconsin at 11:55 pm on August 27, 1925. She was the second child of Frank and Mabel (nee Peterson) Becker.
Vernice had a great love of books, education and her life on the family farm in Fort Atkinson. Vernice had a 25 year career with the State of Wisconsin. But most especially, Vernice was a caring and lovely mother, who cherished her children above all else. She will be deeply missed.
Vernice was preceded in death by her son, Matthew; brothers, John "Jack" Becker and Charles Becker; parents, Frank and Mabel Becker; brother-in-law, Ray Helt; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Becker and Beverly Becker as well as niece, Kathy and nephew, Eric.
Vernice is survived by her children, William (Rhonda) Rohloff; Ann Rohloff; Brenda (Steve) Neubauer; Daniel Rohloff as well as sister, Elaine Helt. Vernice was grandmother to four grandchildren, Wendie (Dave) Poltrock, Annika and Akasha Smith and Ty (Leigha) Rohloff as well as five great-grandchildren: Max, Owen and Olivia Poltrock and Avery and Ava Rohloff. She is furthered survived by nieces Prudy and Cindy and nephews Jody, Curt, Nels and Ernie and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held at Marquardt Village Chapel on Thursday, February 25th at 5 p.m. with Rev. Ray Bezanson officiating. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Kaukauna, where immediate family will be in attendance. The family wishes to thank Brenda Neubauer, daughter of Vernice, for her love, care and dedication to Vernice over the years as her health declined.
We thank the staff of Zinzendorf Hall for the love and care they showed Vernice; they are truly exceptional. We also thank the staff of Marquardt Hospice for Vernice's care during her final days.
