    Margaret M. Krieger of Neenah, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, surrounded by her family.
    Margaret was born January 31, 1932, in Menasha, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mathilda (Feitzer) Schipferling. She was a graduate of St. Mary Central High School and was united in marriage to Raymond Krieger in 1951 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2010. Margaret and Ray always enjoyed traveling, especially to the cabin in Mountain. Margaret loved to take long walks in warm weather and snowmobile in the cold and snowy weather. Bowling was always a fun hobby for her and Ray. In her later years she took great pleasure volunteering in the Seton Middle School cafeteria with her daughter Linda.
    Survivors include her sons, Richard (Carol) Krieger, Appleton; Daniel Krieger, Mountain and her daughter Linda (Mark) Wintheiser, Neenah; grandchildren: Alexandra, Donald (Michelle) Krieger, Dakota, Dallas Krieger and John, and Adam Wintheiser; a great-grandson, Brennan Otto; her sister, Kay (Jim) Koerner, Portage, and brother, Bill Schipferling, Menasha.
    Funeral services for Margaret will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 26, 2012 in St. Gabriel Catholic Church, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah.
    The family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Valhaven Rehab and Nursing Facility for the special care they gave Margaret, especially Tasha. Also, thank you to her doctor of many years, Steven Knaus as well as the staff at Theda Clark Hospital.

    Leonard Henry Schipferling, age 88, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his home.
    Leonard was born April 20, 1924 in Menasha son of the late Edward and Theresa (Ciske) Schipferling. Len was a 1942 St. Mary Central High School graduate in Menasha. He played football, basketball and was the team captain of the football team and played in the school band as well. Len received a football scholarship to play at Creighton University, in Omaha, Nebraska. Len transfer to Northwestern University and then to Purdue University where he received his bachelors degree 1946 and two years later his masters degree in mechanical engineering. He served his country during WWII with the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged following the war. He was united in marriage to Beatrice Huebner on January 27, 1951 in Neenah. Len was formerly employed with Kimberly-Clark as an engineer for 37 years retiring in 1985. After retirement he served as a consultant with Kimberly-Clark for a number of years. Len and Betty then moved to Lakewood, Wisconsin where he officially retired. He enjoyed fishing, a good game of golf and playing cards. They also spent several winters on South Padre Island, Texas. He was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lakewood and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4932 in Wabeno.
    Leonard is survived by his four daughters, Cathy (Marvin) Koehnke, Appleton; Jane (Jack) Fleming, Menomonee Falls; Nancy (Jeff) Tellock, Marietta, GA; and Beth (Russ) Konkle, Freedom; 10 grandchildren, Erin (Ron), Brian, Becky, Ryan, Ben, Andy, Curtis, Leah, Alex and Jesse; six, great-grandchildren, Broderic, Madison, Walker, Tyler, Bryce and Aiven; two brothers, John (Carol), Lakewood; Robert (Helen), Mosinee, WI; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 2005; a sister, Mary and two brothers, Frank (Lillian) and Tom (Jeanne) Schipferling.
    The mass of the Christian Burial will be held 3:00PM Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, 15232 County Road F, Lakewood with Rev. Jason Blahnik officiating. Interment will be in the Parish cemetery with full Military Honors.     Edward R. Brantmeier, 84, Menasha, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. On Dec. 31, 1927, Edward Robert was born in Menasha, son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Krause) Brantmeier. Eddie enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served during World War II. In September of 1948, Eddie was united in marriage to Elaine Ackerman in Oshkosh. He had worked for the Neenah Foundry for over 43 years and retired in 1990.
    Ed enjoyed riding his bike to the park and talking to his friends at Tony's in Menasha. He also loved to travel and read, but especially loved spending time with his grandkids and family.
    Eddie will be missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Elaine; his children, Rick (Bobbie) Brantmeier, Patti (Marc Oltra) Helein, and Diane (Jim) Kolakowski; his grandchildren, Chad and Jeremy Brantmeier, Jenny (Bill) Honkanen, Ronnie (Deb) Zawacki, Joshua Helein; step-grandchildren, Matt and Lisa Kolakowski; great-grandchildren, Maria and Faith Helein, Ronnie Zawacki III, Tobias Honkanen; sisters-in-law, Carol Miller and Mildred Brantmeier; his good friends and neighbors, Eupha Koslowski and Joyce Birling; other family members and friends.

    After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After boot camp, he was assigned to the Heavy Cruiser U.S.S. Minneapolis CA36, and for the next 3 years participated in many major campaigns in the South Pacific. During WWII, he was most proud of the Minnie's numerous battle stars. The American Defense Service Medal Asiatic-Pacific with 15 battle stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 battle stars. It was one of the most decorated ships in the Navy; 17 battle stars in all. After the successful invasion of Okinawa on Easter Sunday in 1945, the ship was ordered home for a re-fit.

    Norbert "Norb" Giesen, age 89, of Appleton, was called from his home to eternal life on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, due to natural causes. He was born on August 7, 1923 in Menasha to the late Salome and Clarence Giesen. He attended St. Mary's grade and high school, and was a 1941 graduate. Norb lettered in football and basketball. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After boot camp, he was assigned to the Heavy Cruiser U.S.S. Minneapolis CA36, and for the next 3 years participated in many major campaigns in the South Pacific. During WWII, he was most proud of the Minnie's numerous battle stars. The American Defense Service Medal Asiatic-Pacific with 15 battle stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 battle stars. It was one of the most decorated ships in the Navy; 17 battle stars in all. After the successful invasion of Okinawa on Easter Sunday in 1945, the ship was ordered home for a re-fit. While on leave, he married Dorothy Engel on May 19, 1945; and they shared 67 years together. They spent their honeymoon in Seattle, Washington until the ship was completed and re-deployed. Norb went back to sea duty and Dorothy returned to Appleton. By the time the Minnie got to Cubic Bay, the war was over. After discharge, Norb and Leo C. Sturm owned and operated Leo & Norb's Deep Rock Gas Station on the corner of College Avenue and Walnut Street in downtown Appleton for almost 30 years. He then finished his working career at Azco Inc. as a tool warehouse manager. After retiring in 1986, he spent his free time at their cottage in Mountain, Wisconsin that they built together as a family. For 18 years, they spent the winters in Trophy Gardens in Alamo, Texas. Norb always enjoyed fixing things, especially motors, and you could see the smile on his face when it was working like new again. Norb truly enjoyed spending time with his family.
    Norb is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy and five of their six children: Janet (Jeff) Tellock, Robert (Catherine) Giesen, Patricia Eckrich, William (Mona) Giesen, and Thomas (Sonja) Giesen; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mary Ann Gagnon.
    A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 24, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the hour of the Mass at the church. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha.

    Margaret "Marge" Quella, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, earned her wings on February 11, 2016. Marge passed away unexpectedly at her home in Phenix City, Alabama, that she shared with her daughter, Cheri and son-in-law, Major, since their move in December of 2014.
    Marge was born October 21, 1946, daughter of the late Norbert and Ruth (Slaets) Quella. She attended St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church in Columbus, GA. Marge graduated from St. Mary High School in Menasha, in May of 1964.
    Marge retired from SCA, the former Wisconsin Tissue Mills, in Menasha, on December 30, 2008. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles, playing games and time spent with Cheri, her granddaughter Nicole, and her Saturday morning coffee with her brother Bob.
    Marge is lovingly survived by her daughter, Cheri (Major) Nettles; a granddaughter, Nicole Honick; four brothers: Norbert (Joyce) Quella, Robert (Terry) Quella, John (Louise) Quella, Louis (Joanne) Quella; three sisters: Mary Harold, Dorothy (CJ) Jones, and Mary Kay Kucirek. Marge is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
    She was preceded in death by a brother, William Quella; and a brother-in-law, Frederick Harold.
    The Funeral Mass for Marge will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, February 26, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha, with Rev. Paul Paider officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of service. A luncheon and gathering will be held at Trailside Bar, 977 Plank Rd., Menasha, after the funeral from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

    Baker, David C. "Dave", David Baker, 64, Town of Menasha, died unexpectedly Monday, December 8, 2008, at his home. He was born January 29, 1944, in Neenah, son of Charles and Rita (Quella) Baker. David married Rosemary J. Krueger on April 12, 1969, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. Mr. Baker was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. David was a 1962 graduate of Neenah High School. He was employed at Eggers Industries and the City of Neenah Park Department for 37 years until his retirement on October 1, 2006. Mr. Baker was a former member of the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry of the Wisconsin National Guard 32nd Red Arrow Brigade for 6 years. Dave was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.

    Paula Jean Hartzheim, 56, Menasha, went to Heaven on Saturday, May 14, 2011, surrounded by family and her faithful dog, Buddy, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 6, 1954, in Neenah, daughter of the late Paul and Viola (Brantmeier) Hartzheim. Paula was a lifetime resident of Menasha.
    Paula enjoyed playing cards and darts, as well as being with family and friends. Her three nephews and three great-nieces and great-nephew were a special part of her life. She was able to take a trip this spring to North Carolina to meet her newest great-niece and see the rest of the family.

    Mark Brantmeier, age 62, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Brewster Village, where he was a beloved resident for seven years. He was born on September 27, 1952, in Menasha, the son of the late Reynold and Aline (Lutz) Brantmeier. He enjoyed employment at New Hope Center in Chilton and Valley Packaging in Appleton. Surrounded by his collection of monkeys and fond memories of his beloved parakeet Petey, what Mark loved most in life was time spent with his family. Many will miss Hank, Gus, Spanky or Sparklers, as he was affectionately known. We will miss his firm handshake, strong hug and amazing laughter.
    Mark is survived by his brothers and sisters: Bruce (Marcy) Brantmeier, Tom (Maria) Brantmeier, Judi (Robert) Hoerth, Pam (Loren) Asche, Amie Brantmeier, Sue (Tony) VandeYacht, and Tony (close friend Pam) Brantmeier; ten nieces and nephews: Joel, Anna, Karina, Nathan, Ryan, Christin, Chase, Shanel, Kayla, and Sarah; step nieces: Jill, Casey, Jennie, and Bobbi Jo; and eleven great nieces and nephews; uncle and aunts: Russ and Leone Brantmeier, Ruth Brantmeier, Myrna Brantmeier, and Dianne Lutz.
