    Obituary:
    Bernard "Beany" Bongers, Little Chute, age 94, died Thursday January 17, 2013 at Brewster Village. He was born in Little Chute on May 18, 1918 to the late Henry and Petronella (Bergman) Bongers. Beany married Helen Gertrude Orth at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on April 26, 1941 where he was a lifelong member. She preceded him in death on May 23, 1983. He married Wilma Losselyong in January 25, 1986. She preceded him in death on August 21, 2002. Beany served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was a 65 year member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258. Athletics were very important to him. Beany served as Head Coach and Assistant Coach for St. John High School Varsity Basketball and Football teams for several years. He was a member of the St. John Athletic Association Hall of Fame. He was an avid golfer and belonged the to Fox Valley and Ridgeway golf clubs. Beany was the President of the Bank of Little Chute until his retirement in June, 1980. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Forestors and Little Chute Fire Department.
    Beany is survived by his children: Mike (Carol), Avon Lake, OH; Tom, Little Chute; Kay, Little Chute; Joan (Pedro) Martinez, Milwaukee; Hank (Donna), Janesville; Patti, Kimberly; and Bill, Houston, TX; grandchildren: Bill (Corinne) and Mark Bongers, Tim (Niki) Stephani, Cindy (Matt) Kuettner, Amy Stephani, Becky (Marco) Lopez, Neal and Sam Martinez, Sean Tormey, Shad and Mike Bosmans, Melinda (Keir) Anderson, Kevin and Sara Bongers; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Evelyn Bongers; and special Godfriend Melissa Feldman. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition, Beany was preceded in death by his siblings: Cyril, Joseph and Orville (Barbara) Bongers, Lucina (Nick) Jansen, Catherine (Martin) Schumacher, Marie (Joseph) Huiting and Rosella (Emil) Van Dyke.
    Visitation will be held Wednesday January 23, 2013 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday January 24, 2013 at ST. JOHN NEPOUMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate.
