    Thomas H. Lamers, 66, Leavenworth, Kan., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family.
    Memorial Services will be 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Belden Larkin Funeral Home.
    Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
    Inurnment with Military Honors will be at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 23, at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
    Thomas was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Appleton, Wis., the son of Clarence and Irene (Apple) Lamers.
    Thomas graduated from High School and joined the United States Air Force on Sept. 10, 1968 and retired on Sept. 30, 1992, as a Master Sergeant.
    He married Denise Elizabeth Bendle on Feb. 27, 1971, in Enborne, England.
    After his retirement from the United States Air Force, Thomas worked for Heatron Manufacturing in the production department.
    Thomas enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was a huge sports fan and always rooting for the Chiefs, Royals, and Kansas University Basketball. He was known as Elf to his grandkids and liked to play Mr. Fix It, and was always inviting family over for just a minute to dig into a project that normally took much longer. He enjoyed sitting in the backyard and watching the birds around the bird houses. He loved gardening and maintaining his yard. He was a member of the Eagles, and the Little Bar Clan.
    He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Sarah J. McFadden and her husband, James "Kirk", Atchinson, Kan.; Shelley A. Berkebile and her husband, Steven, Leavenworth; four grandchildren, Annika and Miranda Jones, Ryanna Berkebile, and Christopher McFadden; two sisters, Mary Dufrane, Little Chute, Wis.; and Carol Daul and her husband, Thomas, Appleton, Wis.; three brothers, Eugene Lamers and his wife, Irene, Combined Locks, Wis.; Jim Lamers and his wife, Jinny, Middletown, Md.; and Jerry Lamers and his wife, JoAnn, Little Chute, Wis.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Dennis Dufrane.
    Memorials in his name may be directed to St. Lukes Hospital on the Plaza, and Cushing Hospital, Leavenworth, Kan.
