From Jim's File on Rootsweb; Since Mary Ann grew up in Hollandtown, one would suppose that she was introduced to John B Huiting through George John Huiting and family. George was John's father's cousin and also brother of Henry Huiting who lived with John later in Freedom on John's farm on Appleton/Green Bay Road.The wedding was witnessed by Mary sister Ellen (Petronella) and Gerhard De Vought. John's birthplace is not listed and his father is given as his given name, Bernard John Huiting. The coverup continues.Her parents are buried in St Francis cemetery in Hollandtown. The grave is quite worn - I should do something about that if I can. Mary grew up in Hollandtown and there she must have been introduced to my g-grand father, John Huiting. John - or Johannus Bernardus HuitinK - was a bootlegger from Gelderland near the German border. Nothing serious I guess but he was convicted in absentia and still needs to serve 3 months in a Dut ch Jail! Anyway, he had relatives in Hollandtown, he fled to America and I supposed he was introduced to Mary Ann shortly after that time. They later moved just south of Freedom on present day highway 55.I only know of one sibling for Mary Ann - Petronella. I do not know if Petronella ever married or whether there were more siblings. A Kaukauna Sun article about 1895 discusses Henry Hoveners as the father of Mary Huiting but no other children. He was poor and blind and a widower when he died. In Freedom, Mary Ann and John had about a dozen children. Only 4 survived to adulthood. TB took most lives, including Mary Ann. It also shorted the lives of at least 2 of the 4 survivors. Any HUITING you run into in Wisconsin or Minnesota is one of the descendants. Mary Ann and John (and John 's second wife also Mary) are buried in St John's cemetery in Little Chute .Of the four, John Henry was the oldest and longest lived. John Henry married Anna Hersant and had 9 kids all across Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. Several moved back to Wisconsin and the youngest still lives in Little Chute.The second was daughter Alice who married a Tennessen in Hollandtown. She died young and is buried at St Francis. They had 2 sons would died early.The third was Mayme who married George Henry Weyenberg. They had 5 kids the youngest still lives in Kimberly.The youngest of the 4 was my grandfather - Ted - who married Sophia Hietpas (niece of George Henry Weyenberg who ran a store in Little Chute where Sophia worked and where Ted and Sophia met). They had four kids all who are alive and doing quite well. My dad is the youngest and was born just 2 months before Ted Sr. died at 33. He lives in the Ted Sr homestead on Washington St on the far western edge of Little Chute.

Obituary:
Theodore A. "Ted" Huiting, 92, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 18, 2015. He was born on August 2, 1923, in North Dakota, son of the late John and Anna Huiting. Ted married Jule Vanden Heuvel on October 5, 1944, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Together they recently celebrated 71 years of marriage.
Ted proudly served his country during WWII as a member of the United States Air Force. After the service, he spent many years as a salesman in the automotive supply industry. After retiring the first time, Ted went back to work at Larry's Piggly Wiggly and did just about anything they needed, and he truly enjoyed doing just that. He was a "Mr. Fix It" type of guy, taking on any kind of project that was presented. Ted enjoyed wood working, and a lot of his furniture and handy work is displayed in the homes of his children and grandchildren. He was most importantly a wonderful husband, father and grandfather that will be dearly missed.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife, Jule; sons: Tom (Sandy), Richard (Esther), Tim, and Mark (Anne) Huiting; daughters: Marsha (Tom) Guckenberg and Ann (Jim Weigman) Huiting; daughter-in-law, Paula Huiting; grandchildren: Mindy (John) Hollander, Mike (Bridget) Huiting, Brian, Joe (Tracy) and Craig Huiting, Matthew (fiancé Shirin) and Meg Guckenberg, Allissa (Andrew) Hanlon, Maggie Huiting, Eric (Renee) McGuire and Amy (Joseph) Sell; great grandchildren: Jillian, Evan, Rachel, Jacob, Noah, Kailey, Owen, Morgan, Raegan, Archer and Aiden; sisters-in-law: Mona Bouressa and Doris Vanden Heuvel; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ted was preceded in death by a son, Terry Huiting; his parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Full military honors will be performed by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute, immediately following the service. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Mr.Weyenberg of 805 N.Wilson, Little Chute, died at 6:12 Tuesday, Octob er 16th, after a brief illness. He was born 13 October 1912 in Little Chu te and along with his brother had operated Weyenberg's Grocery for many ye ars. He later was employed by Eggers Hardwood Products, Neenah, pri or to his retirement. George was born May 30, 1917 in Little Chu te, son of George H. and Mayme (Huiting) Weyenberg. Sonny graduated from L ittle Chute High school and was member of St.John's Parish. He worked f or Riverside papers for 35 years. He was member of the United States Airfo rce and proudly served in second World War. On August 9, 1939, she marri ed Harry Valentyne at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. They enjoy ed 63 wonderful years together. Sis was a longtime member of Holy Na me of Jesus Catholic Church and served with the Ladies of Holy Name. She a lso served as a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Kimberl y. Activities she enjoyed include crocheting, playing the organ, campin g, and fishing at her daughter’s cottage. Paul J. Huiting, 84, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012, in Cathedral City, California. He was born on May 10, 1928, to the late Theodore and Sophia (Hietpas) Huiting, in Little Chute. Paul went to St. John Grade School and graduated from St. John High School. After enduring Wisconsin winters for more than he wanted to, Paul moved to California, spending most of his adult life in and around the mountains of Southern California. Though he dearly loved and missed his family, California truly became "home."
Paul is survived by his two sisters, Germaine Schumacher and Marianne (Verl) Parker; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ted (Muriel) Huiting; a brother-in-law, Harold Schumacher.
Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute, with Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in at St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home until the time of the service.

Dad was born into one of the most difficult s ituations imaginable: His father had just taken out a loan to start up a a uto repair/resale shop on Wilson St in Little Chute, the Depression stru ck and then Ted Sr. died just 2 months after dad was born. Grandma Soph ie raised 4 children by herself w/o SS and never lost the home on Washingt on St ; safe to say they did not have a pot to pee into. Both the John Hie tpas and Geo Weyenberg families helped out. At age 10, Dad went to live wi th Nick Hietpas (Grandma's uncle) at the Hietpas Dairy Farm on French Ro ad (just SW of the culvert crossing between "OO" and 96. This mea nt up at 5 every day before school. He was befriended by the Joe & Minn ie Brockman Family who had a farm (NW of the current "OO" and 141 overpas s) nearby. Dad and Maurice (Uncle Maurice) remained long-time friends. Aft er finishing school, Dad continued to work at Hietpas's then was draft ed in 1951. He served as a forward observer with an Artillery battali on of the 7th Div in Korea (imagine a 6'4' blond Dutchman with a radio ant enna - sniper practice!). After the war, Dad got married to his Army buddy 's sister - Mom - and went to work for Dick Oudenhoven Construction. Alo ng the way, Dad built his own home on French Road across form Hietpas's Da iry. About 1967 Dad help start the Golden Yolk Egg Ranch financed by neigh bor and ex-co-worker Paul Kerkoff. Dad ran the Farm from 1967-1995 wh en it was dismantled. In 1991, Dad sold the French Road home and after Gra ndma's death, moved into the home he was born in. Dad has always been a pa ssionate hunter & fisherman, he and Mom have had a trailer on Berry Lake f or over 30 years.!BIRTH: Outagamie Co Records; ; ; Birth 48/619; ; Middle name listed as Ju nior on birth certificate and dad was nicknamed Junior. Theodore J. "Ted" Huiting, age 74 of Little Chute died unexpectedly Sunda y, October 10, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh peacefully with his f amily by his side after a short illness. He was born January 6, 1930 in Li ttle Chute son of Theodore and Sophia (Hietpas) Huiting. Ted married Muri el G. Schmitz November 4, 1953, celebrating 50 happy years of marriage tog ether mostly in a home Ted built by hand. Muriel preceded Ted in death Ju ne 8, 2004.
Mr. Huiting was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Ch ute. Through his life, he was a farmer, mason, and managed the Golden Yo lk Ranch. Ted was a true handy-man, there was "nothing he couldn't fix a nd nothing he couldn't break." He spent his life surrounded in "Paradise ", residing in Little Chute. He was a passionate fisherman and hunter w ho enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mr. Huiting enjoyed "t he trailer" at Berry Lake with his family. Ted was a member of the Jacob C oppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute. He was a U.S. Army veter an of Korea, having served from 1951 to 1953 with the 7th Armored Divisi on in artillery. He made friends for life and enjoyed the longtime friends hips with his card club. On September 8, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald McHugh, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2005. Gladys, along with her husband, lived and farmed in the Hortonville area until their retirement. They enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with their family. Gladys was an active member of SS Peter and Paul Parish where she served on various committees. Her family will long remember her for her sense of humor and her wonderful cooking, baking and especially her "same old chocolate cake."

Wallace T. Hersant, age 80, passed away after a brief illness on August 9, 2010 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on September 4, 1929 in Grand Chute, WI; son of the late Anthony and Marie (Brockman) Hersant. On January 28, 1950, he was united in marriage to Loretta M. Tyvol at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Wallace was a truck driver for Kampo Transit, Schneider Tank Lines and Stone Container and retired in 1995. After his retirement, he drove school buses for Lamers. He enjoyed watching sports, including NASCAR, the Packers and the Brewers games with his grandson, Travis. He also loved playing pool and was known for his gift of gab. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Loretta Hersant, Appleton; his daughter, Connie Woldt, Seymour, son, Wallace Wally and a very special daughter-in-law, LouAnn Hersant, Appleton, daughter, Sherry Deltour, Fremont and son, Wesley Hersant, Menasha; grandchildren, Stacy Hietpas, Travis (Katie) Woldt, Sarah Garcia, Lisa (Quentin) Johnson, Kelli (fianc, Adam Peters) Woldt, Jim Hersant and Ashley Hersant; great grandpa, thank you for all your dollar bills and hugs, Taylor, Brandon, Mikayla, Derek, Mikenna, Isabella, Brianna, Conner, Jake, Emma, Joey, Carson, Ethan, Lucas, Abigail and Austin. A funeral service for Wallace will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home, Appleton. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to either the American Cancer Society or to Parkinsons Disease Research. The family would like to say special thanks to the staff of Appleton Health Care for taking such wonderful care of mom and where Dad made such good friends, the staff and doctors of Appleton Medical Center including especially, Dr. Novak and Dr. Bar-Lev. Mary K. Murphy, Appleton, Age 49, died Thursday, August 31, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center following a short illness. Mary K. was born July 22, 1951, in Appleton to the late Bert and Margaret (Huiting) Hietpas, and has lived in the Fox River Valley area all of her life. On March 11, 1995, she married Michael Murphy in Appleton.
Mary K. worked as a bartender for many years at Jacks or Better, Chuters, and Dorns Supper Club.
She enjoyed golfing, the Packers, playing darts, cribbage, and especially raising her two German shepherds. Survivors include her husband Michael Murphy, Appleton; two step children: Sarah Murphy, Appleton; and Derek Murphy, of Kimberly. one granddaughter, Alexandria, of Appleton. A sister, Bev (Dan) Rupiper, of Appleton; two brothers, Nick (special friend Karen) Hietpas, Oshkosh; and Gene (Mary Ann) Hietpas, of Appleton. Her mother-in-law, Judy Boelter, Florida. Two brothers-in-law, Darel (JoAnne) Murphy, Fridley, Minnesota; and Lonnie (Shiela) Murphy, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends J.P. and Lynette. Preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law, Lawrence Murphy.
A memorial service for Mary K. will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2000 at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with Deacon Craig Merrick officiating. Friends may call the funeral chapel Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. Mary K. loved people. She was a fun loving person who enjoyed life. She always had a joke to tell and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Terry L. Huiting, Little Chute, 56, died Saturday March 21, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Appleton on July 24, 1952, to Theodore and Jule (Vanden Heuvel) Huiting. Terry was a 1970 graduate of St. John High School and served in the Army from 1972-1974. He married Paula Hammen on Oct. 1, 1976, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, where he was a lifelong member. Athletics were always of great importance in Terry's life. He was a member and past president of the St. John Athletic Association and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005. He also ran the Athletic Association food stand at Kermis and Cheesefest. Terry was instrumental in implementing the St. John Athletic Association Annual Golf Outing and organized it for many years. He was able to share his love of sports by coaching numerous youth teams. One of his greatest joys was following his sons in their athletic pursuits through grade school, high school and college. He belonged to the Thursday Night Little Chute Golf Association. In addition to his tireless involvement in Little Chute athletics, Terry was a Village Trustee from 1977-1983, and a member of the Little Chute Water Commission. He was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258. Terry retired from Allis Chalmers/Inland Material Handling in 2004 after 29 years of service. He then fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening a sports bar and grill as co-owner of the 5th Quarter Sports Bar and Restaurant, where he was known for his famous Old Fashioneds.
Terry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Paula; sons: Brian, Joe and Craig, all of Little Chute; parents: Theodore and Jule Huiting; brothers: Tom (Sandy), Dick (Es), Tim and Mark (fiancee Ann McGuire); sisters: Marsha (Tom) Guckenberg and Ann Huiting; father and mother-in-law: Gordon and Margaret Hammen; sisters-in-law: Julie (Jon) Brockman, Mary Ellen (Dave) Wittmann, Laurie (Kevin) Coffey, Patty (Gary) Aman and Carrie Hammen. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday March 24, 2009, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St.) beginning at 1 p.m. until time of Mass at 5 p.m. The Rev. James Hablewitz will officiate. Shirley M. Schuh, Appleton, age 82, died Tuesday October 6, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born in Little Chute on August 13, 1933 to the late Henry and Martha (Lamers) Weyenberg. Shirley married Theodore Schuh on November 27, 1952 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Shirley and Ted were lucky to have gone on many trips together. She also loved golfing, playing Bridge and trips to the casino. Shirley enjoyed socializing with her friends while mall walking at the Fox River Mall and will be missed at her family's weekly Sunday breakfast together.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ted; daughters: Julie Schuh of Appleton and Jennifer Hausher of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Emily Hausher and Ian Schuh; sisters: Nancy (Jim) Ourada and Lynn (Ron) Verhagen; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Joe Kronzer, Rita Tessen, Cecelia (Joe) Smet, Jim (Judy) Schuh and Gerry Smith. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister Carole Kronzer; father and mother-in-law: Fred and Catherine Schuh; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Virgina (Joe) Martin, Leland Tessen, Richard (Betty) Schuh, Dolores Smith and Harold (Pat) Schuh.
