    Mrs. Fred (Marie) Bessette Fairview Drive, New London, Wis. Age 62, passed away unexpectedly at her home Friday. She was born January 24, 1913, in Port Washington. She had owned and operated the Bessette Grocery Store in Royalton for 10 years, until her retirement. She was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Orville (Pat) Bartman, New London; four sons, Fred Bessette Jr. and Harold, both of Manawa; Leo of Clintonville; and James of New London; two brothers, Leo and Oscar Zirbes of Port Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Tylock of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gerty Clauing of Cedarburg; and 12 grandchildren. Her husband, one daughter, one grandson, one brother dnd one sister preceded her in death. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London, with the Rev. Norman Kadow officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lebanon. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London, after 2 p.m. Sunday and on Monday until the time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday.

    Leo W. Bessette, age 70, of Clintonville, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Appleton Medical Center. Leo was born on September 21, 1938, in Eland, WI, the son of the late Fred and Marie (Zirbes) Bessette, Sr. At a young age, Leo's family moved to a farm in the Township of Deer Creek, Outagamie County. On June 6, 1959, he married Ann Graham at the St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville where Leo was currently a member. The couple lived in the Township of Deer Creek where they operated Bessette's Grocery. In 1957, Leo started working at the F.W.D. Corporation, now Seagrave Fire Apparatus, Clintonville. In 1965, the couple moved to Clintonville where they have lived since. Leo retired from the F.W.D Corporation in 2001 after 43 years of service.
    Survivors include his wife, Ann; his daughter, Terry (Paul) Pagano, New London; two sons: Tim Bessette, Green Bay; Todd (Lynn) Bessette, Marion; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; his sister, Patricia (Orville) Bartman, New London; his brother, Harold (Sandra) Bessette, Manawa; his sisters-in-law: Carmen Bessette, Manawa; Dorothy (Allen) Wedde, Gresham; his brothers-in-law: Edward Graham, Wittenberg; Philip (Norene) Graham, Tigerton; many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lillian in infancy; and two brothers: Fred, Jr. and James Besssette.
    Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2009, at the St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the service. A Parish Prayer Service will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent through www.eberhardtstevenson. com.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Leo's memory.

    Bessette, James A. "Gomer", Manawa, Age 58, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Riverside Hospital in Waupaca. He was born on October 30, 1943 in Embarrass; son of the late Fred and Marie (Zerbes) Bessette. James married the former Carmen Dervin at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. He was employed at Pierce Mfg. for over 19 years.
    He is survived by his wife, Carmen; his children: Laurie (Tim) Barnick, Fremont; David (Janet) Bessette, New London; Becky (David) Hebert, Oshkosh; his grandchildren: Candace Kuppernus, Ethan Barnick, Ryan and Kourtney Hebert; two brothers: Leo (Ann) Bessette, Clintonville; Harold (Sandra) Bessette, Manawa; a sister, Patricia (Orville) Bartman, New London; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and an infant sister.
    The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2002 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in the Town of Lebanon with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Lally officiating. Burial will be in Baldwins Mill Cemetery in the Town of Royalton. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for church. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home
