Obituary:
Hunkapiller, Patricia Keating
Patricia Keating Hunkapiller passed away on August 1, 2013, in West Des Moines, IA after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years.
She was born in Appleton, WI and lived in Orlando, FL most of her life. She moved to Iowa late in life to be with her family. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and the University of Missouri. Her career included teaching, newspaper reporting and administration.
Patricia was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed taking care of her yard and many plants.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Sean and Mary Sellers, her brother and his wife, Peter and Karen Keating and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. BB Hunkapiller.
Our deepest appreciation to the wonderful and caring staff at Arbor Springs for all their effort and support of Pat and to Hospice of Central Iowa for the loving care they gave her. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Science Center of Iowa.
