    Obituary:
    The Rev. Thomas O. Meulemans, O. Praem., a priest of Daylesford Abbey, Paoli, PA, died on Tuesday, December 04, 2012 at the age of 78. In addition to the members of his community he is survived by several cousins.
    Our brother Thomas Meulemans was born in Appleton in 1932 to Frank and Eleanor (Griesbach) Meulemans. After being graduated from St. Norbert High in 1951 and a year at the college joined the Order in 1952. He was solemnly professed in 1957 and ordained to the presbyterate in 1959.
    Tom began his public speaking career in 1952 as a staff announcer for WTMK in Hartford, WI, which he continued as writer and broadcaster for the WBAY Radio Mass from the National Shrine at St. Norbert College and Abbey from his entry into the Order until 1960.
    Tom taught Religion and Speech at Abbot Pennings High School in its foundation year of 1959 and in 1960 was transferred to Bishop Neumann High in Philadelphia.
    He received his B.A. in Philosophy from St. Norbert College in 1956. In 1962 he received an M.A. in Communication Arts from U.W. Madison. For 17 years he taught speech, forensics and debate at Bishop Neumann and was elected the Diocesan-Director/Chairman of the Philadelphia Catholic Forensic League; a post he held from 1962 until 1980. During this time he was co-founder of the Tri-State Communication Association, encompassing Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
    Tom served as principal of Abbot Pennings High School from 1977 until 1979. During this time he undertook post-graduate studies in educational administration at U.W. Oshkosh and Columbia University Teacher's College.
    From 1979 until 1992 he taught at Archmere Academy and acted as Assistant Comptroller and later as Dean of Finance. During most of these years he also was Mission Procurator for the Norbertine mission in Peru. He spent most of his weekends in his car travelling for preaching assignments to parishes across the nation.
    Funeral arrangements for Fr. Meulemans are as follows. Reception of the Body will be held at Daylesford Abbey on Friday, December 7, 2012 followed by the viewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 7 at 3 PM with final interment in the abbey cemetery. Abbot Richard Antonucci will officiate at the funeral service. Donations in Father's memory can be made to Daylesford Abbey, 220 S. Valley Road, Paoli, Pa. 19301.
