    Obituary:
    Raymond Golden, 75, Neenah, entered eternal life on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, with his family by his bedside. He was born February 25, 1935, in Kaukauna, to the late Edward F. and Genevieve C. (Summers) Golden. He married Mary Jacquelyn "Jackie" Van Den Heuvel in Little Chute and she preceded him in death April 21, 1991. He married Mildred J. (Gauerke) Hameister, January 8, 1994, in New London.
    In 1953, Ray graduated from Kaukauna High School. He joined the U.S. Army and served from April 1954 to April 1957, in the military police and heavy artillery. He spent one year at Thule Air Force Base in Greenland, near the North Pole. He also spent time in the desert southwest: Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. After his discharge, he received an Associate Degree in Accounting from Fox Valley Technical School in 1959. He was employed at Menasha Corporation as a corporate accountant for over 30 years. He retired in March 1990 to stay at home and care for his wife, Jackie, who had terminal cancer. Ray had a home accounting business for a number of years. He was proud to have been a member of the National Association of accountants for many years. Ray also was a member of the American Legion Hawley Dieckhoff Post #33, Neenah. Ray also worked for outside security contractors at Appleton Papers for 15 years. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah. Worship and education were very strong priorities in his life. Ray was very proud of his Irish Heritage. His favorite Gaelic Blessing was "May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields, and, until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand."
    Ray is survived by his wife, Mildred "Millie" and two sons: Patrick (Sue) Golden and David (Cindy) Golden; two daughters: Joan Golden and Susan (Thomas) Witkovich; a stepson, Lloyd Hameister; stepdaughters: Susan (Mark) Bayerle and Jayne McCormick; grandchildren: Anthony and Christopher Nowak, Chase and Chelsea Golden, Claire and Rober Witikovich; stepgrandchildren: Eric Hameister, Sarah Hameister (Zac) Schendel and Weston and Thorton McCormick; great-grandchildren: Andrew and Chelsea Hameister; a sister, Mary Jean (Peter) Fulcer; brothers: Robert Golden, Donald (Jean) Golden and Thomas (Jane) Golden; sisters-in-law: Eleanore (Gene) Schwaller and Ione (Paul) Gillen, Melda (Norman) Bang, Lois (Gerry) Edinger and Elizabeth Gauerke; brothers-in-law: Earl (Joann) Gauerke and Franklin (Patricia) Gauerke; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
    Ray was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Theresa, and a brother, Mark.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at St. Margaret Mary Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, with Father Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Kessler Funeral Home and at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the mass. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Margaret Mary School, 610 Division Street, Neenah. Special thanks to Dr. Michelle Lopez and staff, Dr. Osaid Ahmad, and Frecenius Dialysis Center nurses: Judy, Lisa, Anita and Joanie.
    Also special thanks to Sue and Jim and the rest of the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice Center.
