    Obituary:
    Urban J. Van Hoof, Little Chute, age 91, died at his home Tuesday September 24, 2013. He was born in Little Chute on December 6, 1921 to the late Martin and Jane (Jansen) Van Hoof. Urban graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1940 and was a lifetime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a 1st Lieutenant in the South Pacific and China theaters and was honorably discharged in June, 1946. Urban married Anne Clark at St. Mary Parish in Belleville, WI on June 13, 1949.
    Urban attended the University of Michigan and Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1948. He then attended the University of Wisconsin Law School. Urban received his law degree and was admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar in 1951. In that same year, he was admitted to practice law in the United States Federal Court Western District of Wisconsin and in 1955 to the Eastern District of Wisconsin. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Wisconsin in 1966. Urban was a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and Outagamie County Bar Association. He practiced law in the Village of Little Chute since 1950.
    Urban was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 and the Knights of Columbus Msgr. John J. Sprangers Council 10919 for over 59 years. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his yard. Urban also enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with family, close friends and grandchildren.
    Urban is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne; sons: David (Tari) of Appleton; John (Julie) of Appleton; and Michael (Heather), Kaukauna; grandchildren: Ashley (Anthony) Wilhelms, Kelly (Tom) Campbell, Matthew, Taylor, Logan, Paige and Brooke Van Hoof; sister: Joan Scherer; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill (Helen) Clark, Gloria Clark, Dawn Van Hoof and Janet Clark. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Urban was preceded in death by his son, Jim; sisters and brothers: Ann (Doc) Goshgarian, Blanche (Tim) Timmers, Gerald (Virginia) Van Hoof and Francis Van Hoof; and brothers-in-law: John Scherer, Jim Clark and Richard Joseph "Dick" Clark.
    Visitation will be held Friday September 27, 2013 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine Street Little Chute) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will immediately follow. Committal St. John Cemetery. A memorial is being established.
