The daughter of the l ate John and Anna (Green) Meulemans was born September 6, 1923 in Kaukaun a. Catherine and Gerald Van Asten were united in marriage July 4, 19 46 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown. She was a member of St. Pa ul Catholic Church and a past president of the Christian Mother's Societ y. Catherine was an avid gardener who loved flowers, she loved to sew a nd play cards. More than anything Catherine greatly loved her family.Survivors include her husband, Gerald. Their children: Gary (Lue), Kaukaun a, Ken, Kaukauna, Jim (Phyll), Wrightstown, Nancy (Bob) Lamers, Kaukaun a, Linda (Jim) Kortz, Kaukauna, Tom, Kaukauna. 6 grandchildren: Scott a nd Julie Van Asten, Mike Kortz, Dan, Sarah and Michelle Lamers.     Arthur A. Meulemans, Kaukauna, age 84, died Monday May 28, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice with his family at his side. He was born to the late John and Anna (Greene) Meulemans on December 2, 1927 in the town of Kaukauna. Art married Marcella Beyer on September 23, 1976 at St. Paul Church in Wrightstown. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319. Art enjoyed golfing, cribbage and raised poultry. His passion was sports and he was known to say, "There's always a good game on somewhere." Art was employed as a mechanic at Kobussen Bus for 31 years until his retirement in 1991.
    Art is survived by his wife Marcella; daughter Jenny Rice, Freedom; grandchildren: Matthew (Jamie) Rice and Amanda (Amro) Ali Taha; great-grandchildren: Michael and Jenna; sister Dorothy (Mark) Buchinger; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerald Van Asten, Joyce Van Roy, Jackie Jones, Agnes Karner, Cathy (Roger) Erdmann, Pete (Barb), Charles (Rosemary), Alex, Edward (Judy), Janice and Doris Beyer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Ann; son-in-law Daniel Rice; sisters Catherine Van Asten and Lucy Meulemans; and brothers and sister-in-law: Albert, Edmund and Judy Beyer, Robert Karner, Bernard Van Roy and Bill Jones.
    Visitation will be held Thursday May 31, 2012 at ST. CLARE CATHOLIC PARISH - WRIGHTSTOWN CHURCH (423 Main St. Wrightstown) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 12:00 Noon. The Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 will immediately follow. Committal St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown.     Dorothy Buchinger, formerly of Kaukauna and Kimberly, age 87 died peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Heritage. She was born July 25, 1930 in Wrightstown, WI the daughter of the late John and Ann (Green) Meulemans. On September 19, 1950 Dorothy married Mark Buchinger. The couple farmed in the Sherwood area for nearly 50 years before retiring to Kimberly in 1993. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, Friday night fish frys, reminiscing with family, friends and neighbors, snowmobiling and bowling. She was very active with Sacred Heart Sherwood Ladies Society and Sherwood Senior Citizens.
    Dorothy is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Marge (Leon) Schilling, Neshkoro, Judith (Robert) Piel, Menasha, and Karen (Charles) Engel, Green Lake, grandchildren: Jennifer Schilling (special friend Joe), Scott (Deb) Schilling, Amy (Brian) Randall, Cathy (Adam) Olig, Charlie (Ashley) Engel, Robert Engel (special friend Sara) and Michael (Tabitha) Engel, great grandchildren: Zach and Zoe Schilling, Joey Miotke, Nicholas and Lucas Randall, Sonya and Emmett Olig and Amelia Engel, sisters-in-law: Marcie Meulemans, Kaukauna and Jean Buchinger, Brillion, brother-in-law: Gerald Van Asten, Kaukauna and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
    Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Mark Buchinger, brother, Art Meulemans and her two sisters Catherine Van Asten and Lucille Meulemans.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at Holy Spirit @ Holy Name Catholic Church, 602 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Visitation will be held at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna from 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday and again on Wednesday directly at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
    The family wishes to thank the staff at the Heritage/Peabody Manor and ThedaCare Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Dorothy.

    James E. (Jim) Van Asten, 60, Wrightstown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 12, 2013 at a local hospital, following a short illness.
    He was born November 28, 1952 in Green Bay, WI, son to Gerald and Catherine (Meulemans) Van Asten. Jim graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1971, and served his country in the United States Army. He married Phyllis Uitenbroek on May 3, 1974 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. Jim farmed all his life on the family farm in Wrightstown. He enjoyed taking drives to see other farmers land, NASCAR races, and going to his cottage on Lake Winnebago.
    Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Phyllis, Wrightstown; father, Gerald, Kimberly; brothers and sisters: Gary (Lou) Van Asten, Kaukauna, Ken (Diane) Van Asten, Florence, WI, Nancy (Bob) Lamers, Kaukauna, Linda (Jim) Kortz, Kaukauna, and Tom Van Asten, Wrightstown; Phyllis' family: mother-in-law, Lorraine Uitenbroek, Freedom, Bob (Lori) Uitenbroek, Freedom, Janet (Pete) Van Handel, Kaukauna, Lyle (Christa) Uitenbroek, Freedom, Lisa (Jerry) Ebben, Mackville, Lori (Bob) Greiner, Freedom, Gail (Jeff) Van Rossum, Black Creek, and Jill Uitenbroek, Little Chute; very special niece, Nichole; many special nieces and nephews; and one special family, Ken and Lou Ann Vosters, with Lori, Jennie, Gayle and Brian.
