Mary Pat Vande Hey, 55, Freedom, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 26, 2 005, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 31, 195 0, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Her family moved to Tomah, Wis ., a couple years later, where she grew up and spent her childhood. At t he age of 27, she moved to Freedom to start her own family. She was a carr ier for The Post-Crescent. A job she truly enjoyed, delivering the daily n ews to residents of Freedom for 15 years. Mary Pat loved music and dancin g, camping and the outdoors and, of course, her Green Bay Packers. She w as creative beyond words, whether it be interior design, building or the f abulous Halloween costumes made to celebrate her husband's birthday. She w as a loving and supportive, wife, mother and proud grandma.Mary Pat will be deeply missed by her husband, Dennis; her three daughter s, Melanie (Wade) Knorr, Tracy Bell, Jacole Vande Hey and her grandson, Ma son; her father, Carl Schnese; brothers, Jim Schnese, Tom (Sharon) Schnes e; sister, Karen Schnese; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Ethel Vande H ey; brothers-in-law, Mike (Lynn) Vande Hey, Keith Vande Hey, Nick (Maur a) Vande Hey, Kevin Vande Hey and Jeff Vande Hey; nieces and nephews, Ni ck Schnese, Graham (Laura) Schnese, Tyler Schnese, Darren (Sarah) Vande He y, Becky, Jesse, Ryan, Megan, Amanda and Rick Vande Hey.Mary Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Grace (DeGroot) Schnese.Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at S t. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, with the Rev. John Schuetze officiat ing. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the ti me of Mass.The family would like to extend sincere and heartfelt thanks to the nurse s, caregivers and staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice. We will never forget yo ur kindness, generosity and compassion during mom's final days.Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorr ow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest a l ittle while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eas ed my pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief.
