    Obituary:
CMSgt. Kenneth L. Kippenhan (Kip) passed away on May 28, 2007. Kip served his country for 55 consecutive years; 30 years in the Air Force, retiring in January 1982, followed by 25 years as a DOD civilian employee from which he retired in April 2006. During his service in the Air Force, Kip served multiple tours abroad, both in the European and Asian theaters. Kip proudly served and was well known throughout MAC and SAC during this time as an Air Transportation Manager. He started his DOD career at the Ramstein NCO Club in 1982 and then transferred to the Ramstein Audio-Photo Center where he ended his assignment 22 years later under the MOMS name.
Kip is survived by his wife, Preciosa; daughter, Edith Preciosa, and granddaughter, Michelle Preciosa, two brothers, Cecil and William, and two sisters, Janet and Joanne, and numerous nieces and nephews and other members of the extended family.
Kip was dedicated to the Air Force and his work therein, but he was equally devoted to his immediate family. He loved gardening and hunting, and being around people. He always played by the book and stood up for his team.
Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on August 13, 2007, at 3 p.m. Kip will receive full military honors for his service. Those that wish to be present for the service must be on-site at the cemetery no later than 2:30 p.m.
Kip was an exceptionally modest person, and many of his achievements are not known to his family. The family would like to put together a memory book to be present at the services at Arlington. Please send your memories, funny stories, pictures and anything else to E. P. Kippenhan, 210 University Blvd., Toledo OH 43614, or by e-mail to edith.klingberg@utoledo.edu .
    We miss him terribly.

Hi: A little info. about Ken Kippenhan (my dad's cousin). He was an air force lifer, retiring after 30 years on active duty. When he retired, he started to work in the base exchange (BX) Over time, he became the guy running the camera shop at Rahmstein Air Force Base. His widow's name is Precosia. I don't know her maiden name. Their daughter is Edith Precosia. She teaches chemistry at the University of Toledo. She was married (she's divorced) to a man named Detlef H. Klingberg. They had a daughter, Michelle.
Note, all of this is from personal knowledge. I have met Edith Precosia (in Appleton in 2007 (at a family reunion)). Other details from Cecil Kippenhan, Ken's brother.
Ken was regarded highly in his air force career, retiring at the rank of E-9.
    Hope you find this helpful!
    H.A. Kippenhan, Jr.
