    Obituary:
    Marie "Bean" Kees, age 82, of N8328 Cty. Tk. BB, Hilbert, passed away on June 14, 2004 after suffering a major stroke in March. She was born September 8, 1921 in Dundas, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Peters) Rademacher. On July 3, 1945, she married Herman Kees at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown.
    Marie was a dedicated and active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John for almost 60 years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Catholic Knights. Marie was a founding member of St. John's adult choir for over 30 years and involved in countless masses, funerals, dinners and benefits held at St. John. She was active in the Daughters of Isabella and sang with the Extension Chords. A 1937 graduate of Kaukauna High School, Marie also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years. She loved gardening, bowling, golf, the Cubs and the Brewers, a good wash day and her writing. Her prose and poetry included three volumes of memoirs entitled "Scents of Humor" in which she described the humorous aspects of growing up during the Depression, several wars, and very large families. She gave of herself in service to many people and organizations in need during her lifetime including the New Hope Center of Calumet County. Her gifts of caring, strength, humor, liveliness, and service are irreplaceable and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
    Marie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Herman; six of her seven children: Betty (Keith) Uhlenbrauck, Darboy; Daniel (Terri) Kees, Sedalia, Missouri; Bill (Margo) Kees, Brillion; Nathalie Kees, Ft. Collins, Colorado; Tom (Sue) Kees, Brillion; and Nancy (Mark) Holz, Appleton; her 17 grandchildren: Brian, Chris (Denise) and April Struebing, Craig (Melissa) Uhlenbrauck, Dawn (Marc) Fry, Wade (Liz) Uhlenbrauck, Adam (Lee Ellen) Kees, Melanie (Josh) Squires, Rebecca and Victoria Kees, Cody and Emily Kees, Jon and Maria Kees, Andy, Evan and Laura Holz; seven great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Jim Struebing, Brillion; her sister and brother-in-law, Lucille (Ambrose) Hammen, Little Chute; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Clara Rademacher, Dundas; Ray Prange, California; and her many, many loving friends and relatives.
    Her eldest daughter, Diane Struebing, preceded her in death in 1985. She is further preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby VanZeeland and Grace Prange; and two brothers, Marcel and Allen Rademacher.
    Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John with Father Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2004 and then at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.
    Our heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents of Peabody Manor and Cherry Meadows for their gentle and loving care for Marie and to all those who visited Mom and sent cards and flowers. We appreciate your love and support.
