Micke, Rosella Mary Vandenberg
Rosella Mary Vandenberg Micke, age 85, of Brillion, was united with her heavenly Father on July 19, 2009. Rose was born on January 4, 1924, in Green Bay, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Meulemans) Vandenberg. On October 24, 1942, Rose married Raymond Micke at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay. Ray went into the Army shortly after they were married and Rose gamely followed him to various Army bases and made a home for them. After Army service, Rose and Ray returned to the Brillion area where they lived and farmed for over 61 years until Ray passed away in 2003. Rose loved and enjoyed her family very much and especially enjoyed cooking and baking for them. She looked forward to going to Post Lake every summer. She loved the outdoors, her garden, and flowers. She liked to read and do needlepoint. Rose was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion, but for many years had been a member of St. Francis Parish in Hollandtown where she and Ray purchased their burial plots with a plan to be side-by-side once again. While the family grieves for the loss of this special person, they also celebrate that two soulmates are united once more.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her brother Melvin Vandenberg and sister Lillian Neumeyer; four grandchildren: Christina Rose, Jonathon, Aaron, and Carrie Lynn Micke; brothers-in-law: Norbert, Francis, Anton, Edward, and Gilbert Micke; Ernest Mertens, Ray Jacobs, and Clayton Vanderheiden; sisters-in-law: Anna, Helen, Josephine, Ceil and Gladys Micke, and Veronica Jacobs.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009, at Holy Family Parish, 1100 W. Ryan St., Brillion, with Fr. Matthew Simonar celebrating. Interment will be in St. Francis Parish Cemetery in Hollandtown. Friends may call at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna (920-766-2099) on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, Appleton Medical Center, and Theda Care at Home who so lovingly and diligently attended to Rose.

Obituary:
Kaukauna - Alan Francis Micke, 64, Kaukauna and longtime resident of Greenleaf, WI, passed away on January 19, 2018. He was born November 18, 1953 to Raymond and Rosella (Vandenberg) Micke in Green Bay, WI. Al attended Brillion High School. On May 27, 1977 Al married the former Theresa "Tessie" Van Gheem
Al was a mechanic for 28 years with Interstate Brands. He also spent a long time as a school bus driver for Lamers Bus Lines and most recently he was a city bus driver for the City of Appleton.
Al was very involved with his community, he was a member of the Greenleaf/Wrightstown Optimist Club, a School Board member, and for a long time he was the coordinator of the Wrightstown area Rec. Soccer Program.
Al's greatest joy was his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He enjoyed cooking, lending a hand whenever/wherever he could, and putzing with projects.
Al is survived by his wife Tessie; children: Brad (Julie) Micke, Craig (Amy) Micke, Stephanie (Tristain) Thomas, and Carmen (Aaron) McCune; his grandchildren: Alexis, Madison, Owen, Brandt, Ryan, Isaiah, and baby McCune. He is further survived by his siblings: Richard (Nancy) Micke, Donald (special friend Marge) Micke, Kenneth (Dorothy) Micke, Dale (Nancy) Micke, and Dennis (Linda) Micke; and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents; Raymond "Ray" and Rosella "Rose" Micke; and sister-in-law Mary Micke.
