    Germaine M. Greening, 87, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Feb. 10, 2009, surrounded by her loving family while in the comfort of her home.
    Born on Aug. 9, 1921, in Greenleaf, she was the fifth of 13 children born on the family farm to William and Celia (Kempen) Gonnering.
    Germaine married Gerhardt H. Greening on Jan. 17, 1942. Together, the couple owned and operated "The Cheese Mart." Gerhardt preceded her in death on April 22, 1998.
    Germaine was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church ever since moving to Green Bay in 1961. She held a deep belief in the Catholic faith. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of fishing, card-playing, bowling and spending time with family and friends at the cottage at Lake Hilbert. Germaine was a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful friend.
    She is survived by one son, Richard Greening, Green Bay; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Dennis Hansen, Green Bay; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Debbie Greening, Green Bay; and Therese Greening, Luxemburg; son-in-law, James McConnell, Pennsylvania; brothers and sisters, Robert (Ceil O'Connell) Gonnering, Green Bay; Donald (Betty) Gonnering, Illinois; Marjorie Dollar, Green Bay; Irene (Eugene) Engstrom, Green Bay; Raymond Gonnering, Wrightstown; Rosemary (Joseph) DuBois, Florida; sisters-in-law, Delores Gonnering, Milwaukee; Margaret Erdman, Shawano; Geraldine (Donald) Wierschke, Wrightstown; Betty Greening, Appleton; brother-in-law, Lloyd Dachelet, Alaska Lake, Wis.; many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerhardt; two sons, Darrell and Kenneth Greening; one daughter, Patricia McConnell; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Greening; one granddaughter, Carla Mary; brothers and sisters, Evelyn (Norbert) Vander Perren, Ralph (Elaine) Gonnering, Vincent (Helen) Gonnering, Ethel (Roland) Matzke, Marvin Gonnering; one infant sister, Marion Gonnering; brother-in-law, Chester Dollar; sister-in-law, Sylvia Gonnering; other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
    Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Parish Wake service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Friday morning at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Church with Rev. Harry G. Hafeman officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

    Greening, Darrell L.Darrell L. Greening, 62, Green Bay, was called to his heavenly home on Sat urday, June 4, 2005, at Bellin Hospital after a three-and-a-half-year batt le with colon cancer. Darrell was born July 21, 1942, to Germaine (Gonneri ng) Greening and the late Gerhart Greening in Oshkosh, Wis. On Aug. 7, 199 3, he married the former Deborah McIntyre. He was an over-the-road truck d river for 35 years. He was most recently employed by Krueger Internation al until his time of sickness. Darrell was a member of the Loyal Ord er of Moose Lodge #801, Green Bay, and St. John Lutheran Church, De Per e. He had a passion for old cars and also enjoyed playing golf, cards a nd cribbage with family and friends. Darrell was also known as a person w ho gave of himself unselfishly and always put the needs of others before h is own.Survivors include his wife Debbie, four sons and their spouses, Kevin (Bre nda) Greening and grandchildren, Graham and Tristan; Scott Greening and sp ecial friend Saima; Brian (Chris) Greening and step-daughter, Chelsie; Je ff Greening two step-daughters, Tracey (Corey) Schroeder and Kerry McIntyr e, all of Green Bay.     Kenneth W. Greening, 61, Luxemburg, died early Thursday morning, July 2 2, 2004, at a local hospital. He was born July 21, 1943, to Germaine (Gonn ering) Greening and the late Gerhardt Greening. Ken was employed with Fo rt Howard Paper Mill for 34 years.
