Thiel, Lawrence B.Lawrence B. Thiel, "Foxy," age 73, died on Friday, February 11, 2005, at C herry Meadows. Larry was born March 27, 1931, to the late Lawrence and Ro se (Marx) Thiel Sr. in the Town of Woodville. He served in the U.S. Army d uring the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge. Larry worked f or Thilmany Paper and Pulp for 47 years, retiring in 2003 as a member of t he Quarter Century Club. He was a member on St. Aloysius Catholic Churc h. Larry married the former Kikue "Erie" Yonehara on January 10, 1955, a nd together they raised two sons. He was active in the Barbershop Quarte t, enjoyed cars, the EAA, animals and camping with his sons and grandchild ren.He is survived by his wife, Erie Thiel; two sons: Charles (Kathy) Thi el of Menasha and Marv (Linda) Thiel of Kaukauna; four grandchildren: Tabi tha Thiel, Jonathan (Jessica) Thiel, Tracy (fiance, Ric Evers) Thiel and J eremy Thiel; a great-grandson, Blake Beck; four brothers: Leroy (Vern) Thi el, Lloyd (Margaret) Thiel, Lenny (Marian) Thiel and Lester (Joan) Thie l; two sisters, Lois (Roger) Geiser and Lucina (Gary) Janke and 13 niec es and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father in law a nd an infant sister.Larry's funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2005, at S T. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Kaukauna with Fr. David Schmidt officiatin g. Viewing and visitation will be Sunday at the Boettcher Family Funeral H ome 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a 7 p. m. Parish Prayer Service and again on Monday at Church from 10:30 a.m. unt il the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being establish ed in Larry's name. Full Military Burial Rites will be performed at Chur ch after Larry's service.The family would like to thank Dr. John Swanson, Dr. Greg Johnson, Cher ry Meadows and the Hospice Staff for all the care and compassion they show ed Larry.
