    Raymond L. Sanderfoot, 73, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005 at UW-Hospital and Clinics in Madison. Ray was born in Little Chute on January 19, 1932, son of the late Ted and Dorothy (Mueller) Sanderfoot. Ray attended Kimberly High School and excelled in track and field by setting individual and relay records. During his service in the United States Navy, he continued his running, and was named the captain of his naval track team. Following his discharge, he began his apprenticeship in the sheet metal trade and retired in 1987. Ray was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union # 18, the Kaukauna Elks Lodge #962, the Golden K Club, and the William Verhagen Post #60 in Kimberly, which will provide military honors at the cemetery on Tuesday. He was a talented bowler, golfer, and softball player, and he also enjoyed playing cards and following the Green Bay Packers.
    Ray was a master handyman, always willing to help family members or friends who needed work done. Crooked Lake was a favorite retreat for Ray. There he loved spending numerous hours on the water teaching his kids to ski an guiding pontoon boat rides for his grandkids. His wife, children, and grandchildren meant the world to him.
    He he will be sadly missed by his wife: Eunice Sanderfoot of Darboy, whom he married on September 13, 1958; four daughters; Nancy (Mike) Coenen of Freedom; Karen Sanderfoot of Darboy; and her special friend Greg Ziesemer; Kelly Cooper of Darboy; and Sara Gorenchan of Darboy; four sons, Steve Sanderfoot of Milwaukee and his special friend Chrissy Howe; Bob (Sharyl) Sanderfoot of Rochester, Minn.; Mark (Brenda) Sanderfoot of Madison; and Paul Sanderfoot of Darboy; seven grandchildren, Peter Sanderfoot, Mary Sanderfoot, Katie Coenen, Tanner Coenen, Kylie Coenen, Caden Sanderfoot, and Kendra Sanderfoot; a sister, Florence (Bob) Wyngaard of Kimberly; two brothers, Vin (Alice) Sanderfoot of Kimberly and Cliff (Joan) Sanderfoot of Kimberly; a brother-in-law, Bill Gloudemans of Little Chute; and two sisters-in-law, Nori Stuyvenberg of Kimberly and Mary (Ken) Robl of Oshkosh.
    Ray was preceded in death by his grandson Travis Coenen, his parents, and Eunice's parents Peter and Mary (Murphy) Vandehey, and by several brothers and sisters-in-law.
    The funeral liturgy for Ray will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, W5831 County Road KK, in Darboy with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, and again at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. There will be an American Legion prayer service at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and a parish prayer and scripture service at 7 p.m.
    The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many health care professionals that have done so much for them and for Ray during his illness. They include Dr. Laurin Bellg, the staff at the Appleton Medical Center and St. Paul Elder Services, and to the phenomenal people who spend their lives caring for the lives of others at UW Health in Madison, especially everyone in the Cardiology ICU. You were incredible. A final thank you to Dr. Niloo Edwards, who gave Dad a second chance and a glimmer of hope to have more time here with his beloved family. We thank you all, and will never forget the kindness and love you showed to our family.
