    Obituary:
    Neenah - Gordon J. Brittnacher, age 90, Saturday, August 22, 2015: Gordy woke early Saturday and spent the morning outdoors tending his gardens which he dearly loved. After lunchtime, Gordy strolled into the backyard, lay down under a large Ash tree in the sun-dappled shade and was born to eternal life.
    Gordy served in the Army in World War II as a member of Gen. Patton's 8th Army Corps, participating in the Invasion of Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, and as a guard at the Nuremberg Trials. In 1950 he joined the Air Force and was part of the 75th Air Depot Wing (supply) as a Staff Sergeant based in Texas and Japan supporting actions in South Korea.
    In 1952 Gordy married Kathleen Klug. After leaving the service, Gordy and Kathleen settled in Neenah where they lived quietly and raised two daughters, Mary Ann and Annette. Gordy was a member of St. Gabriel Parish and volunteered frequently as an usher, greeter, and rummage sale advisor for the parish.
    Gordon is survived by daughters: Mary Ann Brittnacher and Annette (Eric) Hass; 3 grandchildren: Gabrielle, Anna, and Madeline Hass; a sister: Marge Kappell; a sister-in-law: Dot Brittnacher and many other relatives and friends.
    Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers: Don (Lucille) and Mel; and a brother-in-law: John Kappell.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Full military honors will be presented immediately following the Mass.
