    Ludwig, Bertha EstherBertha Esther Ludwig age 85 of Chilton died on Wednesday March 31, 20 04 at Chilton Care Center in Chilton. She was born August 7, 1918 in Stock bridge daughter of the late Henry & Anna (Steffes) Thill. Esther married A lbert F. Ludwig on November 15, 1939 in Stockbridge. The couple then farm ed together in the town of Stockbridge for over 40 years. Esther also earn ed her beautician license and ran a small beauty parlor out of her hous e. Albert preceded her in death on June 7, 1994.She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kloten, the Christi an Mothers, the Daughters of Isabella, Chilton VFW Auxiliary, and the Fa rm Bureau. Esther also enjoyed knitting & crocheting and loved playing She epshead every week with her friends.She is survived by six children: Paul (Susan) Ludwig of Chilton, Frank (Sh ari) Ludwig of Omaha, NE, Carol Ostrowski of Arlington Heights, IL, Mark ( Patti) Ludwig of Fort Collins, CO, Luke Ludwig of Green Bay, Tom (Bette) L udwig of Elgin, IL; 17 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 8 great grandc hildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and a sister: Vivian Hertel of Chilto n.Esther was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ray Ostrowski; a daught er-in-law: Connie Ludwig; a grandchild: Erin Ludwig; and four sisters: Mar garet Mueller, Theresa Steiner, Crecence Zahringer and Felicia Kempen. Fun eral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday April 5, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Cat holic Church in Kloten with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating. Burial w ill follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may ca ll at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton fr om 4 - 8 p.m. on Sunday April 4, 2004 and on Monday at St. Elizabeth Catho lic Church in Kloten from 10-11 a.m. when services will be held.Online Con dolenceswww.wietingfuneralhome.com
