    Shirley Ann VandenBerg, 73, Freedom, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 12, 2008, following a short illness.
    She was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Kennan, Wis., daughter of the late Bernard and Clara (Ross) Weyers.
    Shirley was united in marriage to Marvin E. VandenBerg in Freedom on Sept. 1, 1953.
    She was a past member of the Christian Mothers at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. She also did volunteer work at Oconto Falls Community Memorial Hospital. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time at her home on the lake.
    She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marvin; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel (Charlotte "Charlie") and their children, Sara, Jason (special friend, Lorrie), and Lisa (special friend, Sam); William (special friend, Lynn) and his children, Adam (Carol), Andy, and Amanda; David and his son Brad, all of Freedom; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ronald (Christine) Weyers, Robert (Donna) Weyers, Leonard Weyers, Lois (Don) Nollenberg. She is further survived by her husband's family, John "Jack" (Elaine) VandenBerg, Jack (Marilyn) Jahnke, Jerry (Sharon) Jahnke; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Weyers; and mother and father-in-law, Martin and Magdalene.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom, with Fr. Dave Hoffman and Deacon Don Newhouse co-officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna and again on Wednesday directly at Church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in her name. 766-2099.
    The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Appleton Medical Center & Theda Care Hospice, in addition to the many dear friends for their support and prayers.
    We love your very much. Thank you for all the wonderful memories that we will forever cherish. We will miss you dearly.

    William J. "Clyde" VandenBerg age 55, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 following a short illness at Appleton Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1956 son of Marvin and Shirley (Weyers) VandenBerg. William was employed by the Kimberly Paper Mill for 28 years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golfing, cooking, snowmobiling, boating, tubing with family and friends, going up north, sitting by the fire, and going to Packer games. Bill had a marvelous sense of humor and enjoyed laughter and good times.
    He is survived by his children: Adam (Carol), Little Chute, Andy, Appleton, and Amanda "Rosie", Freedom; his father, Marvin, Pound; 2 brothers: Dan (Charlie) and Dave. His is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann, and numerous uncles.
    Funeral Services for William will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, August 15, 2011, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom with Fr. Dave Hoffman officiating. Friends will be received at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
    The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Staff of Appleton Medical Center as well as the support of family and friends.
    We love you Dad and will miss you dearly.
