    Pfc. John Rupiper, Joyce Street, received an honorable discharge from service October 31 at Camp McCoy and arrived home Friday. The former Pfc. was awarded the EOT ribbon with five battle stars, the good conduct medal and the pre-Pearl Harbor ribbon. He entered service in February, 1941 and served overseas for 22 months with the engineer Corps of the first Army.

    Rose M. Vander Zanden, age 87, passed away Thursday morning, October 18, 2007, at Parkside Care Center. She was born September 15, 1920, to the late Henry and Rose (Le Mere) Rupiper, in Kaukauna, where she was a resident most of her life. Rose had been employed by Zwicker Knitting Mill, in Appleton, until illness forced her retirement, with multiple sclerosis, in 1968. In her younger years she was a seamstress and made many of her children's clothes. Rose loved visiting with family and friends, playing sheepshead and bingo. She instilled a good work ethic to her family and a strong catholic religion. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks.
    Survivors include three daughters: Lucy Klister, and family, Kim Klister, LeRoy Klister and Brian (Cindy) Klister: Evelyn (Joe) Kersten and family, Paula Armstrong, Lisa Thiede, Scott Grady (fiancee, Chris), Heath (Missi) Kersten, Jonathan Kersten (fiancee, Jacquelyn), Teri Kersten: Joy Brittnacher and family, Lance (Charlie) Vander Zanden, Annette (Dennis) Eiting, Christy (Gary) Leick, Tom II (Chad) Brittnacher, Ted Brittnacher and Lynn Brittnacher; son, Clyde (Gail) Rupiper and children; several great grandchildren; a brother, John (Alice) Rupiper, sisters: Louise McMahon, Margaret Byers; brother-in-law, John Kamps; sister-in-law, Doris Rupiper.
    She was preceded in death by two son-in-laws: Marlyn Klister and Tom Brittnacher, brothers: Arnold, Joseph, Donald, Richard and Alvin, a sister, Marie Kamps, sisters-in-law: Virginia, Ceil, Elaine and Myrtle, brothers-in-law: John McMahon and Chet Neveau.
    Funeral services for Rose will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 East Wallace Street, Combined Locks, with Father Jim Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday, until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
    Rose's family would like to thank the staff of Parkside Care Center for the wonderful care they gave our mother and grandmother.

    Louise Ursula McMahon, age 89, of Kaukauna, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012, following a long illness. Louise was born on August 3, 1922, in DePere, to the late Henry James and Rose (Le Mere) Rupiper. She married John J. McMahon on March 1, 1954, in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death on January 19, 1999. Louise proudly served her country in the United States Air Corp during World War II. She was known as the family historian and enjoyed passing on stories to the youngsters at family gatherings. Louise also enjoyed sewing and puzzles, especially Word Search. For many years she was a seamstress for area firms. Survivors include her children, Ronald Leslie (special friend, Shirley) Monarch; Donald James (Julie) Monarch; Linda Louise McMahon; Timothy John (Doris) McMahon; Thomas James McMahon; Mary Margaret (Jim) McMahon-Bullis; her sister, Margaret Beyer; her sister-in-law, Doris Rupiper; and her dear family friend, Sue Vanderloop. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia McMahon; her brothers and sisters, Arnold (Virginia) Rupiper, John (Myrtle) Rupiper, Rose Vander Zanden, Richard Rupiper, Alvin Rupiper, Joseph (Cecile) Rupiper, Marie (John) Kamps, and Donald Rupiper. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH, 2401 Main Avenue, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna, on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.     Florence A. Nelson, 90, passed away early Friday morning, May 9, 2008, in Green Bay. She was born Feb. 2, 1918, to the late Jack and Genevieve (Lemere) Ruch. On Nov. 17, 1937, she was united in marriage to Lee Nelson in Shiocton. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1986. Florence farmed and was co-owner of Nelson Salvage Yard with her husband. She enjoyed Polka music, puzzle solving, gardening and reading.
    She is survived by a daughter, Gloria (friend, Jim Koeppen), Black Creek; four sons and daughters-in-law, Roland Nelson, Kunesh; Wayne (Ardella) Nelson, Shiocton; Kermit (Barbara Jean) Nelson, Pulaski; Glen (Judy) Nelson, Shiocton; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Hruban, Milwaukee; Beatrice Reeck, Clintonville; and two brothers, Joe Ruch, Embarrass; Byron (Marie) Ruch, Glendale Ariz.     Beatrice R. Reeck, age 89, of Clintonville, passed away Thursday evening August 5, 2010, at her residence.
    Beatrice was born on April 10, 1921, in Kaukauna, WI, the daughter of the late John "Jack" and Genevieve (LeMere) Ruch. On September 30, 1939, she was united in marriage to Elmer A. Reeck at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Township of Dupont, Waupaca County. The couple farmed in the Township of Dupont until 1945 when they moved to a farm in the Township of Deer Creek, Outagamie County. In 1980 the couple moved to Clintonville. Mr. Reeck preceded his wife in death on July 28, 1988, after 48 years of marriage. Beatrice worked at Jerry & Pat's Restaurant (Now Fork & Knife Restaurant), Clintonville, for 30 years. She was well known at the restaurant for the amazing pies she baked. Her hobbies included baking pies, cooking, dancing, needle work, playing cards & bingo and traveling. Beatrice was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville.

    Diane (Reeck) Stephenson, age 63, of Yorkville, IL, formerly of the Bear Creek area, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. She was born on June 10, 1945, in Clintonville, daughter of Beatrice Reeck and the late Elmer Reeck.
    She is survived by her husband Don; two sons: Paul Stephenson, Kentucky; Peter Stephenson, Illinois; a granddaughter; two sisters: Donna (Leon) Matz, New London; Sally (Dennis) Diedrick, Peshtigo; three brothers: Larry (Julie) Reeck, Green Bay; Richard (Lori) Reeck, West Bend; Lowell Reeck, Pulaski. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Memorial services will be held at a later date.

    Hanuszczak, Nicole Elizabeth
    Nicole E. Hanuszczak, age 26, of Appleton, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center after fighting a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Clintonville, WI, on March 26, 1983, the daughter of Richard and Lorrie Reeck. Nicole graduated from Franklin High School and later earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh majoring in Journalism. Nilcole married the love of her life Jason Hanuszczak on September 8, 2007. Nicole's love for animals brought in many orphaned and stray kittens. She enjoyed being outside, either playing softball, basketball and volleyball, biking or catching that trophy bass on Lawrence Lake. What Nicole loved doing most was writing, which she had a real gift at. Her cancer may have prevented her from doing a lot of things, but it could not stop her from writing and touching so many lives through her humorous and inspirational words on Carepages. Nicole's sense of humor and care for others helped her to make special friends where ever she was, be it in school, college, or working at the Veterinarian's office in Franklin, the Milwaukee County Zoo, the YMCA in Oshkosh and Hoffmaster Company of Oshkosh. Nicole has always loved dolphins and always dreamed about swimming with them.
    She is survived by her husband, Jason Hanuszczak, of Appleton; her parents, Richard and Lorrie Reeck of West Bend; one sister Courtney Reeck; her father and mother-in-law Lubo and Patty Hanuszczak, grandmother Beatrice Reeck;, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    A Memorial Service for Nicole will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Risen Savior Lutheran Church ( 9501 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin, WI). A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Please, in lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated which will be used for future donations in Nicole's name. Nicole will be greatly missed by those that knew her.
