    Obituary:
    Lyle Elmer Eichhorst was born on October 29, 1929, in Hollandtown, Wisconsin, a son of the late Arthur and Louise (Moschel) Eichhorst. Lyle grew up in Reedsville, Wisconsin, and married the former Mildred Meyer on October 29, 1955, in Reedsville. They enjoyed 32 years together. She preceded him in death in 1988. They lived in Oshkosh where he made his home until his death on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the age of 77 years. Lyle graduated from Reedsville High School in 1946 and was the team manager of the Reedsville 1946 State Basketball Championship team. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea with the Co. C 44th Engineer Construction Battallion from 1953 until June of 1954. Having served in the Korean War he received the Korean Service Ribbon, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and Meritorious Unit Commendation/Emblem. He served as a Construction Foreman with the 98th Headquarters 8th Army. Following the Korean War, Lyle was a Union Sheet Metal Journeyman until his retirement in 1994.
    Lyle was a longtime member of Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. He served as Finance Officer of the Fox Valley Sheet Metal Retirees Club and the AmVets Post #7 of Oshkosh. Lyle was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and good friend of many, who loved to volunteer for many organizations.
    His memory will be cherished by his sons: Bruce (Jean) Eichhorst of Kearney, Nebraska; Bart (Reba) Eichhorst of Sommerville, Alabama; Dean (Patty) Eichhorst of Neenah, Wisconsin; a daughter, Barbara (Michael) Fialkowski of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; siblings: LeRoy (Shirley) Eichhorst, Betty Anderson, Carol Siebert and Donny (Pat) Eichhorst; a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Allen) Eichhorst. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Allen Eichhorst; and a great-grandson, Liam Kortz.
    Funeral services for Lyle will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd. in Oshkosh. The Reverend Jeffrey Berg will officiate. Interment with full military honors to be provided by the United Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. The Eichhorst family will greet friends during a time of visitation and support at the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Avenue in Oshkosh on Thursday evening, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and also at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a AmVets Memorial Service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. A memorial fund is being established.
    Lyle's family wishes to thank the Doctors an Nurses from the Cancer Center and the ICU Staff at Mercy Medical Center for all of their special care during this very difficult time.
