    Mathilda M (Tillie) Strauss, age 99, a Manitowoc resident, died Friday, July 13, 2001 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2001 at St Mary's Catholic Church, 1114 S 21st at Marshall streets, Manitowoc. The Rev Finian Zaucha, OFM will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at St Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Maple Grove. Tillie was born Oct 11, 1901 at Whitelaw, daughter of the late Anton and Theresa Pritzl Schamburek. She married Simon J Strauss, April 28, 1925 at St Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Simon preceded her in death Oct 1, 1962. After coming to Manitowoc in 1962, she was employed at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc, St Mary's Rosary and Altar Society and sang in the funeral choir. Tillie is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law; Evelyn (Harold) Kummer, Lorraine (Paul) Erdmann, Rita (Clifford) Maule, Shirley (Frederick) Richmond, all of Manitowoc, and LaVerne (Myron) Schettl, Oronoco, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Simon, she was predeceased by a brother, John A Schamburek and a sister Rose Geiger. Relatives and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc, until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. E-mail letters of condolences may also be sent to the Strauss Family, c/o Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, at "jrp@lakefield.net" Reinbold & Pfferer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc is serving the family. The Strauss Family would like to thank the staff at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, especially the Alzheimer's Unit staff for the excellent and loving care given to our mother.

    Rose Geiger, 311 W Water Street, Brillion - Age 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 1998 at the St Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was born July 17, 1908 in Whitelaw, daughter of the late Anton and Theresa Pritzl Schamburek. She married Emery Geiger on July 31, 1935. She farmed with her husband until her retirement, was a member of St Mary Catholic Church in Brillion, the Christian Mothers, Catholic Knights and a member of Brillion Senior Citizens. Rose is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Rosemary and Rod Holzschuh, Combined Locks, Jean and Robert Drexler, Appleton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Nancy (Steven X) Hietpas, Linda (Dennis) Groves, Sharon (Simon) Neicheril, James (Catherine) Holzschuh, John P Holzschuh, Joel (Leanette) Holzschuh; six great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Hietpas, Cecily Groves, Sofia Rose Neicheril, Colton and Claire Holzschuh, Hanna Holzschuh; one sister, Tillie Strauss, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Cecilia Pritzl, Manitowoc, and Daisy Schamburek, Whitelaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 4, 1979; one great-granddaughter, Celine Groves; and one brother, John Schamburek. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 11998 at St Mary Catholic Church in Brillion with Rev Tom Long officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home of Brillion assisted the family.

    John A Schambureck, 78, of 151 Hoover Street, Whitelaw, Wisconsin, died Wednesday morning, January 10, 1990, at his residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Heymen and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr Schambureck was born April 27, 1911, at Whitelaw, Wisconsin, son of the late Anton and Theresia Pritzel Schambureck. He grew up, was educated and lived in Whitelaw all his life. Mr. Schambureck farmed and retired from the Manitowoc Company. He was an avid deer hunter, trapper and enjoyed card playing. He married Daisy Lorrigan on October 12, 1937, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maple Grove, Wisconsin. Mr. Schambureck was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw; past president of the Holy Name Society; member and past president of the Whitelaw Senior Citizens. He was also a member of the Whitelaw Lions Club, Manitowoc Engineering Company Retiree, Jackson County Deer Hunters and Machinists Union Local 516 (I.A.M.) Survivors include his wife, Daisy of Whitelaw; children include: Donald and Barbara of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dale and Patt of Two Rivers, Anthony and Charlotte of Valders, Annette and Harry Kehrer of Milwaukee, Eileen and Rodney Draheim of Dykesville, Wisconsin, Ellen and Peter Wagner of Park Falls, Wisconsin, Teresa and Robert Fischer of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Trudy and Loring Neumann of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Marilee and Martin Giere of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Michael and Marlyn of Rochester, Minnesota, and Steven of Whitelaw; two sisters, Tillie Strauss of Manitowoc and Rose Geiger of Brillion; 27 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
